Shipley off to a good start in Philly

Will Shipley has gained some plaudits from his minicamp performances with the Philadelphia Eagles:
"...one of the obvious standouts on the day was rookie RB Will Shipley, who worked quite a bit out of the slot, and who made about a half dozen receptions on the day. I thought his most impressive moment came on a reception deep down the field, after which he turned on the jets and widened the distance between himself and rookie CB Quinyon Mitchell, who was chasing him from behind. Mitchell ran a 4.33 40 at the Combine. Anyway, my takeaway here? Shipley has some wheels." (Philly Voice)

Ship must have added some speed between college and now. He certainly didn't

have any breakaway jets when he was here. If he did, he would have had many more touchdowns, he got caught from behind in several situations. Not to say he wasn't a good back for us, just stating facts.

That's true. I did think he was underutilized as a receiver while here - sounds

He played hurt very often and sadly our blocking on the line and downfield (wr and te) left much to be desired… Hope that’s corrected soon…

So much of the Clemson fan base counted this kid out and hated on him. Spoiled rotten brats that don't know how good Shipley really was. There was a season and a half where he was the only productive offensive player. Some of yall don't understand how crazy that is considering the qb and wr woes.

That wide open missed pass down the center of the field against Pittsburgh in the first half cost us big time momentum in that game and also an ultimate loss - for some reason Shipley was unable to recover from that missed pass and TD for the remainder of the season!!!! That catch and score would have given us a huge and insurmountable lead at halftime!

Shipley is going to be the classic case

Of a guy that’s better in the pros than he is in college. Most NFL teams have gone away from the work horse back that gets 20+ touches a game and gone to a stable of backs that can be dangerous when the play sets them up in space.
That will be where Ship thrives he’ll run away from linebackers and run over safety’s. We might have to wait a few years to see it though because Philly does have one of the previously mentioned workhorse backs in Saquon.

I agree with almost all of that, but not sure he will be running over safeties in the NFL.

Maybe run over is not the right way to put it. He’ll be tough for them to bring down.
