Scouting Report: Great blend of size, speed and strength with explosive running skill-set. Compact frame with more strength than pure power at this stage. Possesses both playmaker quickness and speed.
Quick to see the small cutback and has the suddenness and lateral quickness to exploit. Doesn't dance or waste cuts, bounces when he has to. Very quick feet in the hole with highly effective jump-cut moves and change-of-direction to avoid traffic. Outstanding lateral agility and quickness. Shows ability to make defenders miss in tight spaces and is difficult to line up in the hole. Accelerates out of cuts and reaches top speed in a hurry. Shows the burst to get outside and speed to turn corner. Can outrun faster DB's in second level. Runs a tad high but very hard and is quick to gain downhill momentum. will keep his legs churning on contact; spins out of a lot arm tackles. Shows an effective staff arm in the open field and is difficult to tackle high once he gains a full head of steam. Etienne has eye opening measurables on paper and the playing ability that matches on tape. This is a back that can run inside with strength, outside with speed and can catch the ball out of the backfield. An explosive package with natural running skills that should see his recruiting stock continue to rise.
