College kid TRDJuanita (NO PIGS) today starts putting away clean dishes from the dishwasher. I'm all like OOOHHHKAAAYYYYYYY! Ole girl is growing up. Taking on some responsibility without being asked. LFG!
To be fair here, she's always kept her living space tidy and clean be it at home or at her dorm. At home though, not much for chipping in on communal things like cleaning up the kitchen but whatevs.
Next, I notice she starts CLEANING. Like in the kitchen. She's wiping down surfaces, cleans up some crumbs from under the toaster, even cleaned the hood fan cover thing over the stove. I'm all like COTDANG THIS IS SUMPTIN ELSE SON!.
A bit later I'm passing through the kitchen and notice the hood fan was shiney. I'm talking real shiney. More shine than ever. Hmmmm. So I go and wipe me fanger across it and am all like DubTeeF? I warsh said 19B Notre Dame stir stick and have a glance over at this kid and it hit me.........
This little MF was using DAWN DISH POWERWASH SPRAY. If you don't know what this, it's dawn dish soap but way more concentrateder.
Then I gently have to break the news to her that while her effort was YUGELY appreciated, she'd have to go back and wash everything back down with a wet rag, and maybe a couple of times. She confused the blue bottle with windex, which is apparently what she was intending to use and I don't know how that concept was even possible.
Finally, I showed her where the all purpose kitchen cleaner was. I guess this is just another reminder that 19 yr olds are still right in between the ages of 13 and 25 and results vary widly and unpredictably. If you are still reading this I've been known to put ketchup on a hot dog and don't even AT me bro the end.

Another cute way to separate Greenr from his money. My wife LOVES that stuff, who cares if you use 6 pumps on a YETI (tm) cup and have to rinse it for 30 minutes because you used an unGODLY amount of soap to clean one YETI (tm) cup. Who cares if they charge extra for less soap. Gotta have that stuff at all times.
Thanks Dawn, Unilever, or whoever else made this stuff.

prices at the grocery store.
I'm all for a trip to walmart to get that kind of stuff and then Publix for FOOD ONLY, especially fruits, veggies, and meats.

would be good for paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning products, and frozen foods. We don't use alot of frozen foods, but the others we go through religiously.
Then the occasional TV, tires, side of beef, or cargo shorts.

I figured we would use it for household staples and pick up some frozen foods/snacks for the kids when we went. Publix is crazy expensive for those items and our local Walmart Market is basically a prison commissary.
We go about once a month. It's expensive, obviously, because you are buying in bulk, but it wasn't too bad.
This weekend I went with wifeof and kids. We dropped nearly $650. In fairness, this included loading up on diapers, wipes, some OTC meds, etc. But that put me in a really, really bad mood (especially because wifeof has decided she doesn't like some of the Kirkland brand items that are 1/2 the price of the name brands).
Pro tip: you can save money if you only buy the things you'd be getting elsewhere. If you take the family, you may be out $$$$$$.

I'm too cheap to pay a house cleaner, sammich maker, yardito, or the like. DIY mixed in with enough passive-agressive guilt that I do get some help now and again.
WFH has it's bennies, ya heard?

scrubbin windows, dusting blinds, bathrooms, etc.? nah
I don't mind the muchachas comin in and actually cleaning vs us just keeping all the #### somewhat orderly from my two hellions running around wreaking absolute havoc.
I'm usually here when they're here too, b/c I also wfh

From Claflin U to Newberry College, there's lots of interpretations of bougie.

Claflin is ain't da bougie - sporting a UGA-esque graduation rate of 48% out of the O-Burg. Best thing to come out of da Burg is Duke's on Whitman Skreet, Albert Huggins, Woody Dantzler, and Lee's Country Puddin.

I think it’s Bills Tavern. Haven’t done much Burg stomping in the last decade - been in Hawaii since 2017, but I still have some relatives there.
