"Shame on us for buying in, for actually thanking this year could be different." There is no shame in having high expectations for a team or conference. The shame is in a reporter assigned to cover the ACC who does nothing but bash them. I'm not an FSU fan, but they certainly should not be ashamed of believing in their team.
People bash you all the time, and I think some of it is because you are a woman in a man's sport, but all your negativisim, low expectations, and bashing the ACC support what it is said.

cover the ACC doesn't mean she should be expected to be a cheerleader for the ACC and its teams - she's supposed to be objective (now whether or not she always is is another discussion). But to criticize her for not "supporting" the ACC like you think she should is wrong.

Be sure to evaluate based on the entire conference and not just a couple top-heavy teams of any given conference.

glasses, but to say that people should be ashamed for expecting the best of their team is wrong, and someone assigned to cover the ACC should at least be objective, not one of its biggest nay sayers.
I have high hopes for Clemson every year at least until we lose our first game. I do not expect that attitude from her. My father went to Clemson, I was raised a tiger fan, I graduated from Clemson, and I love Clemson.
The ACC may not be having its best year, and fans have a right to bash the ACC however you want, but a reporter should not be so obviously biased against teams. That article does not miss a chance to take jabs at Clemson too.
