If Wes leaves or gets fired… Jeremy Pruitt? Or too much baggage?
I wish Dave Aranda got fired at Baylor this season! Idk who was coordinator at Baylor or if he has/had a major say in the defense but when they played ole miss in the sugar bowl in 2021, that defense was flying around and nasty.

that he wanted an aggressive in your face defense so that meant they didn't see eye to eye to begin with. Seemed to be part of Wes's problem this year too with of course not being able to stop the run.

Crazy idea, but what about Ed Orgeron? That guy coached big time defensive players in his career. An intimidating personality and I think would give the old school mentality back to our defense. He is 62 years old and may want to retire on tbe lake and coach some defense. They guy has a little baggage, but at his age and experience most do have a little. Swinney would manage any of that.

Ed O was more of a DL coach than a coordinator. He was the DC for 3 years under Kiffin at USC and none of his defenses were particularly good (63rd, 41st, and 45th in total defense. We were 53rd this year).

It's a different time. He put some dudes in tbe league. I just think the coordinator needs to bring passion and attitude. Scheme is important, but having defenders tbat play with aggression and are fundamentally sound will win most games. I think Ed would keep

Look up the rushing defense ranking for USC in 2003 they allowed like 60yds per game. I'm not making the hire or fire, but if it were me, I'd at least call the man. A lot of these guys mentioned aren't coming here. The Iowa guy would be huge but he is tied to that place. Other than they are all gambles. It the day of NIL, you better get someone that can sell something.

I love Coach O. When he was fired, they told him his severance package was around $17 million and he said what time do you want me to leave and which door do you want me to walk out. Then he said to his young girlfriend......come on baby, let's go pack for Destin, but no way Dabo hires Coach O.

Gene Chizik - has a master’s from Clemson, good coach, knows how to recruit, knows ACC and SEC. You could not expect him to work miracles at UNC.
