He said this was the first time he heard Dabo talk about winning a Nation Championship (“you’re on the clock”) before the season. His philosophy was always win the opener and go 1-0 each week. Maybe he put too much emphasis on the big picture and they overlooked what was right in front of them. Who knows…

I think the team had an "Oh crap" moment after watching FSU dismantle LSU and was looking squarely at what we were facing on 9/23.

Thanks to DABO this team isn't equipped to Win a National Title to begin with, let alone handle the "pressure" of that kind of statement from Dabo which was out of character.

Dabo has handcuffed the team the last few years with his hires, roster & talent management.

His 5 goals always were:
1. Win the opener
2. Win the division
3. Win the state
4. Win the conference
5. Win the closer

I haven’t seen anywhere that he stated different goals for this year so I would guess they were numbers 1, 3, 4, and 5. Of those, the only one off the table is winning the opener. Maybe he replaced “win the division” with “qualify for the conference championship game”?

Yes, I would replace "win the division" with finish in the Top 2 for the regular season which gets you into the Championship game.

1 - Lots of football left so still play like you have a chance at the ACC championship. If we lose to FSU, obviously this goal is done.
2 - Beat SCar
3 - Get to some bowl where the weather is nice
