any time USuC beats Clemson, that is their National Championship. They will never win a true National Championship, much less an SEC Championship. Beating Clemson is their primary goal every year. Yesterday alone guaranteed Beamer a contract extension. While the loss, brings the heat to a 10-2 Clemson coaching staff. That’s the difference in these two programs.
That said, they deserved to win yesterday. The were the team that played like they really wanted it. Beamer is a likable coach and truly deserves better than to be relegated to Cola.

If Clemson wanted it more, they would have protected the ball. Even with the ineptness at QB, our defense got burned (same safety by the way) for three TDs. They wanted it more or we would have made the adjustments necessary to win. Yes, we gifted it to them but we had an opportunity at 14-0 to put it away and didn’t. Whether you agree or not we gave up; they didn’t. Hence, the outcome.

Uhhhh NO !!!

The Capons simply took advantage of an early Christmas present from Clemson.
I'm still scratching my head over that mind-numbing three stooges kick return after the safety. Score on that possession, rather than giving it right back to them, and the game is likely over.
That and the decision to put the game on DJ's shoulders when it was abundantly clear that he couldn't consistently hit the ground with his hat.
The Dirt Peckers ranked 110th nationally in rush defense. Yet the decision was made to throw the ball on 44% of the total plays run, completing only 8 of them (just 3 in the second half). There was no need to throw it at all, because they clearly couldn't stop the friggin' run, yet we threw it nearly half of the total plays called. Totally incomprehensible !!!

They put 7/8 in the box all day. Their DB played man all day. They were in cover zero (no safety) multiple time. Throwing the ball was the right way to attack that defense. Execution is what failed.

Hey they played that same defense against Florida but UF ran the ball 45+ times for 300 yards. We were on track for that but we only ran it 37 times. Gotta pound the ball. And don’t make 3 turnovers.

The difference is, they knew what they had in DJU and Shipley coming into this week. Anthony Richardson has the arm to beat you through the air. They couldn't commit 8 to the box vs Florida. The SC game plan vs Clemson this week was stop Shipley, take away DJ running threat and make DJ beat you with his arm. It was a successful game plan. They had a whole week to practice and implement it.
Beamer said earlier this year, that they reach out to teams that they're not likely to play for insights as to common opponents. I'm sure they've been on the phone with Syracuse and ND over the past month.

While true what you're saying but it was also apparent in the first half we had success running. It was also apparent DJ didn't have it. Great play to Williams on the coverage bust TD throw. Beyond that, no adjustments were made. If we weren't going to change qbs, then why not go with 22 personnel and just grind it... especially when it became evident the D wasn't stopping rattler. Shorten the game and pound the rock.
Just baffled. As for the Williams punt fumble. He should have been reminded by Dabo that whatever he does, 2 hands at all times and that all we needed was decent field position.

And I am now completely apathetic to the next two games. Dabo’s friends and family coaching staff is killing Clemson football.

Several things yesterday

Caught my eye that I could not explain. A good QB could have had a field days against the defense that I was looking at from my seat in section US! I would have put another QB in the game for a few plays just to see what changes Beamer would make. They knew that he wasn’t good enough to beat them with his arm... And he WASN’T!!!!
Someone with more knowledge about big boy football than me please explain the running punt into the end zone by DJ.
I don’t remember the Tigers using the toss sweep to Shipley in this game that was so successful in the last game. Obviously the gamecocks would be prepared for it but nothing was working .
A good tight end and QB could have gained some good yardage on these defensive backs. (Sorry I should not have used the word Good and Quarterback in the same sentence,)

The qb punt was a good call. The punt went a little long.

Reminded me of DW4 punting the ball.
What happened to the two back set?

I do not disagree with you. We were the better team and should not have had to resort to trick plays. That tells me even the coaching staff was confused as to what to do. It was a total crap show from top to bottom. One team made adjustments at halftime, one didn’t. Yesterday was proof that if you let an inferior team hang around long enough, they will beat you. The past Clemson teams that we have come to know and love would have taken the ball on the final punt, driven down the field, and won the game. Picture proof that this staff and key personnel have regressed.

Yes, the game is under control at 16-7 and we call a play that should only be called when you’re behind. Momentum switched and we never really got it back

spot one. Mind boggling. Every coach who had their hand in that playgroung kickoff chicanery needs to have a pay deduction of at least two weeks gross salary. One of the top five most stupid calls i have ever seen in death valley by clemson coaches and i cant remember any of the other four.

As bad as we played, the mail in the coffin was a fumble on a punt return with 2 minutes to play on the 40. It’s hard to point to one thing in many games, but if we kept the ball I’m sure we would have kicked a game winning field goal. GO TIGERS

100 per cent correct! By forcing them to punt we allowed ourselves a golden opportunity to win this terribly played game and we blew it,
