CU Ring

Jun 10, 2013, 5:18 PM

I need to get some work done on my class ring. Looking on the web, I see that they have started using a new company. So, do I send it to Herff Jones, who I bought it from,or the company (Baflour) that now has the rights to produce Clemson rings? Anyone else had to deal with this?

You send it where you got it. I did this and sent mine

I found my Herff Jones receipt for my ring the other day, and it includes the lifetime warranty in it. I'll be sending my ring to them if I need work done in the future. Hope this helps!!

Send it to Herff Jones. I recently sent mine to Balfour

mistakenly thinking that the new company would assume repairs for all Clemson rings. Not so. They sent it back to me unrepaired (and minus the s&h fee) saying they did not manufacture the ring and therefore could not repair it.

Herff Jones will repair the ring free of charge, assuming the damage is due to what they term "a factory defect." This typically includes replacing the black onyx and gold insignia in the ring's center. But structural damage to the ring itself isn't always covered, and you may have to pay extra.

My cousin is a senior rep for Balfour - he told me before...

that you always send your ring back to the company you bought it from. Just because they may have lost the contract with Clemson they still have all the dies, etc. they used when they made it.

I have a Josten's ring (class of '73)

They have been great about repairs and resizing over the past 40 years. Time flies.

Should watch this inspiring Clemson ring story

If the link doesn't work search for Skardon Clemson Ring

My ring always has meant a lot to me. Means even more when you think about the sacrifices these men made.
