under no circumstance should a foreign student be deported for exercising their First Amendment rights. I guess it is lost on a lot of people that even foreigners are protected under our constitution, even if they are here illegally, which he was not. What makes America great is the right to speak out against our government without fear of retribution. And of course, being pro-Palestine is not pro-Hamas, as a lot of the troglodytes on this board would have you believe.

Bibi did far more to support Hamas. He and Likud kept them funded since 2007 to ensure that Gaza and the West Bank stayed separate politically. All the while Israel methodically cleanses the West Bank by burning a village here and there to illegally claim more territory. We should fear what happens when they finish and turn attention to the 25% of Israeli citizens who aren’t Jewish.

Then you'll be OK with banning Netanyahu from visiting the US, since he's a major reason Hamas stayed in control all these years.

You oppose people who support Hamas and don't want them in the country. Bibi did as much to financially support Hamas as anyone over the 15 years prior to Oct 6. Much like we supported the Taliban prior to 9/11.

That if a legal immigrant supports Hamas, their rights should be revoked and they should be deported. You're playing right into the Trump admin's hands as a stooge. Because once they're allowed to get away with deporting people for that, they're not going to stop there. But it'll be too late for you to object at that point.

I don't understand your qúestion.
He stated this after the attack that killed the 1200 Jewish people.
"Colonised peoples have the right to resist by any means necessary” and “Glory to the resistance!”. He praised the attacks.
Then he of course his actions hassling Jews on campus.
He is a guest here. I am cool with him hitting the road.

I, and many like me, probably including some legal immigrants, supported Israel going all out in Gaza. No quarter. That opinion, of course, comes with the support of their heavy-handedness which also killed innocent people.
Do I and any immigrants deserve punishment for having that opinion?
If not, then your argument boils to, "I don't like their opinion so therefore I want them punished." And that's not different than Trump or any Trumpkin.

You think legal immigrants should be booted for supporting Hamas and their attack on innocent people, but you don't think immigrants who support Israel and their attack on innocent people should be punished.
That's all it boils down to. And that's not a way to make these decisions. The First Amendment must apply to all who are here legally at all times.

Hamas and its supporters claim Israel started the war long before. I don't agree, but that's what they claim.
Either way, this is continuing to weaken your argument that they should be deported for speaking their minds. You're in a losing argument vs. the First Amendment.

I look at the attack that killed, kidnapped, raped, and terrorized those civilians, as the start of this conflict that is currently happening. Any conversation otherwise is a non starter for me. I compare those justifying the attack on Israel similar to those blaming Ukraine for Russians invasion.

That STILL doesn't justify violating the First Amendment. Yeah, I know Hamas is #### and I question anyone who thinks otherwise.
But they still have a right to that opinion.
Are we going to start deporting Communists next? Nazis? Well, maybe we should deport those guys.
People have #### opinions but we are only as strong of a nation with how much we tolerate them to defend the speech that needs defending.
To believe otherwise is playing right into the Trumpkins' hands, and eventually, they'll use the same logic to punish you.

I realize that, but they won't be incarcerated, but they can be deported. They aren't protected from deportation. A student visa can be revoked due to hate speech.

ChatGPT on hate speech and student visas
Yes, a student visa can be revoked due to hate speech, especially if it violates the terms of the visa or local laws. Many countries, including the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Australia, have laws against hate speech, and engaging in such behavior can be considered a violation of legal or ethical standards.
In the U.S., for example, a student visa (F-1, J-1, or M-1) can be revoked if the holder is found to be engaging in activities that threaten public safety, incite violence, or violate federal, state, or local laws. Immigration authorities have broad discretion to revoke visas for misconduct, and even social media posts can be scrutinized.

There it is. “Colonised people have the right to resist by any means necessary” is official US policy as of UN resolution 3103. But so is our opposition to the illegal settlements and severe abuses of the Palestinians that happen every single year. When the Israeli right wing killed Rabin, that ended any real hope. Our presidents have fear of the same fate if they ever try to force Israel to follow international humanitarian law.

This collective punishment is never right. Plus it's a war crime. We did Afghanistan completely wrong, just like Israel has been doing this war. However, this war goes on and on and on for two reasons, and Hamas is only half of the equation. Bibi keeps the war going to stay out of prison. If they formally drop the charges against him and his wife with a promise not to resurrect them, then the war will end sooner.

It’s only been illegal since 1950, but we have broken it in Korea at least once, Vietnam, and Iraq. The Israeli occupation since 1967 has been one continuous war crime, but it’s been especially bad since 1980. There are many people who support both Russia taking Ukraine and Israel taking the occupied territories. I call them cork soakers.

The narrative that this administration is deporting foreigners for thought crime violations, and nothing else, is completely false. It's especially ironic watching the same kooks that quietly applauded the previous administration's anti free speech actions for four years. Wonder why they hate the idea of terrorist loving non citizens being held accountable but love the idea of US citizens being censored by their own govt and its tech allies. Pick a lane people.
