Yet when the ACC's 1 seeds were beating SEC 2 seeds in regional play this board was trying to use it as evidence that the ACC was every bit as good.
The SEC dominates baseball. Possibly more so than any conference in any major sport. They've won 5 of the last 6 titles, all by different programs (and will almost certainly make it 6/7 this year, likely with a 6th different program). Over that 6 tournament stretch 9 of the 12 CWS Final participants have been from the SEC (and a 10th will be in the SEC next year). For 17 year old baseball recruits they've seen exactly 1 CWS final in their lifetime that did not feature at least one SEC team. It's not some conspiracy, it's that the results on the field in the biggest moments have borne out time and time again that the SEC is the best baseball conference.

High school baseball talent is largely concentrated in the South (east and west) and California. The SEC's location always gave them an edge in the southeast and the money let them start pulling from Texas and California. It's why their complete and total dominance has coincided pretty strongly with falloffs from some of the more traditional college baseball powers in those regions (CSF and Rice particularly got hit hard).

Each conference is exceptional in baseball. Neither has anything to be ashamed of and are clearly the two best. The games have been outstanding and most couldve gone either way.
The boys from the Deep South and Old South all know how to baseball.

A couple things…
1. The sec set a record with 11 teams. I think the Carolina’s had 11 teams within just our two states (could’ve been more with CofC).
2. The home teams have really benefited. Home field advantage is such a big deal. I think the first 5 or 6 games of CWS were all won by the home team. Heck UF walked us off on our own field as the home team (stupid).
UT was beat by fsu, the umps kicked the call in the last inning big time. That one call could’ve flipped the narrative big time as fsu would’ve knocked off top sec team. Really the others go either way.
NC state pitched to Caglione, cost them the game.

Give them(SEC) credit for being the top of the line; but don't beat the ACC up too much if you are comparing it to the rest.
Sure, if you are comparing it to the absolute/clear cut best you may look bad. But, to me, nothing to hand our collective heads down for.
Over the last 25 years "only the SEC has won more National Titles than the ACC"! FSU twice and Clemson twice. The big 10 has 3 with Michigan and Ohio State 2x. The Big 12 has 2 with TX and Oklahoma each having 1. The Pac 12 had a couple with Southern Cal.
So, please, look at the facts folks that are so hyper quick to bust the ACC down. Give the SEC their credit and keep it moving.
