Watkins and Hopkins both dropped passes after his hit on Ellington because they didn't know where he was behind them. They did not drop passes like that all season long. Call him names but this is the way football is played at a high level. Physical and intimidating.

Big mistake not recognizing his outstanding abilities and desire to succeed. Awesome player. Oh, and I don't give a crap about his attitude or if he offends anyone. It's football, I expect a defender to dish out punishment and the more harsh the better.

Lots of people get penalties. He is the one that gets suspended because his attitude draws more attention to his actions.

Aggressive players ride the fine line between clean and illegal hits all the time. Big ###### deal. Occasional Personal fouls are the NORM not the exception. Should we be recruiting alter boys from St. Michaels Cathedral Academy instead? At least their polite.

Thug??? Really?? What do you know about him? Never been in trouble at USC, never tried to disarm a smoke alarm so he could smoke pot. Never caught in car with pot and illegal drugs but he is a thug?
He plays hard, hits hard and tries to intimidate on the field. He is a tough nosed football player that has never been in trouble off the field and who is 4-0 against you but if calling young men who play hard a thug makes you feel better, then have at it.
It is a football game for crying out loud. I don't think Swearinger is a thug anymore than I think Watkins or Jennings is. Jennings has been suspended 3 times in 11 months, you ready to call him a thug?
They are still young men who do their best for their teams, doesn't make them thugs.

He hasn't been arrested, hasn't been in the USC's coaches' doghouse made decent grades for a player (if that 3.0 avg is true), plays hard, and hits hard. I don't think he's a thug. I think he's just one of those players you like on your team and hate on someone else's.

I think this complaining about Swearinger is reflective of our football team. Swearinger knocked the crap out of Ellington, and while Ellington sat there on the ground and Swearinger flexed over him, Ellington's teammates were no where to be found. Back the guy up, knock the crap out of Swearinger, do something. It was pathetic all around and was a perfect portrait of why we've gotten killed by them for three years.
He's not a "thug", he's a football player. It's a sport where men beat the #### out of each other.

finite segment of the population? A very biased segment at that? I am talking about Tiger fans of course.
Carolina fans are biased as well for sure. but at least they have facts like those expressed in the article to back them up. He has fewer arrests than Sammy Watkins. I personally would not call Watkins a thug.
He has a cleaner record than Duane Coleman did in college, who I also remember as a hard nosed guy on the field also. If Coleman played safety I guarantee he takes off a few heads too.
No... I think this is just a case of not liking a rival player. That simple.

games - well before they played us. Kid is a thug. Pure thug. I didn't know Dabo recruited him at all and yes I an VERY glad he is not a tiger.
Watch his game film. Lots of personal fouls - many not called. Lots of taunting.
He may make it to the NFL but I predict a jail stint or two for him within 10 years.
