are Tyler Grisham and Kyle Richardson gone? i think so. every SEC game he has coached WRs in has been a garbage passing game performance

I think we're done changing coaches this year. Grisham has one more year with the shiny new WRs he's brought in. If our guys can't block, run routes or catch next year then I think he's gone.
Someone said it like this; Dabo is a surgeon, not a butcher, when it comes to staff changes.

Agree. Dabo unlikely to do “round 2” right now. Too messy. He would have done already.

I have a feeling Grisham is getting the boot after the bowl game. The only reason we didn’t fire him when we fired Austin/Hall was to keep Moore/Wesco.

I hope you’re right. I think Grisham is way in over his head. He should have never been given the job much less kept it after last year.

The issue isn’t getting WRs open. It’s up to the QB to be patient and scan the field. Among many developmental things needed are being calmer in the pocket and not panicking like he does every time there’s a rush. He runs out of the pocket and loses field vision. He needs to calm down and play like a seasoned veteran, and the offense will go.
It doesn’t matter if we have 5 Tee Higgins if the QB doesn’t see them running open.

What has Grisham accomplished since he took over for Scott that shows he deserves to be here in 24? I’m open to having my opinion changed.

The most productive passing season in Clemson history was with TG

That’s when we had a great QB. The passing offense has been handcuffed for 3 straight seasons. Mediocre or worse QB play has obviously effected the receivers. If we had a great QB, then the receivers would light up just like Cornell Powell came out of nowhere his senior year to become a draft pick, and Amari Rogers increased his draft stock. Thats was Tyler Grisham. No WR can look good when the QB doesn’t play well.

He exists only because of Wesco and Moore. I think if the offense has another putrid performance like they did against the coots, Grisham, Richardson, and Spiller should go far away. It’s time to get serious again. Those aren’t serious coaches like Luke.

Why would CJ be fired? The RBs can’t do anything because the OL and WRs can’t block. Clemson can’t throw the ball so every time loads the box making it nearly impossible to run. Now if Clemson fixes the passing game and poor blocking and the RBs still struggle, than let’s talk about firing him.

It all depends on having better play from the QB. There are no great teams without a great QB. Fix that and the rest will fall in line.

I wonder how much last years bowl performance made Dabo consider change at the OC position? Had he already made the decision or was it truly based not just on that one game performance but the whole collective year WITH the bowl game?
So if we have another game without a TD would that make him reconsider? I don’t know. I kinda doubt it but we’ll see!
We better score a flipping touchdown against Kentucky!

to have the most productive passing game in Clemson history.
Since then we been handcuffed by mediocre or worse play from the QB spot. There are no great teams or great offenses when the QB can’t rise above mediocre.
As Cade goes, so will the offense. That’s all it’s really been. Need a great QB. I for one think Cade will be like most QBs.. need time to develop at the college level. Once he cools down and processes the game better, the offense will take off. Suddenly the open receivers will look great.

Receivers are running free in this system more often than not. We need the QB to process the game much better, and that’s all there is to it.

I'll go on the limb and say zero chance anything happening with Richardson or Grisham before the end of next season.

Also, it would be a silly reason to fire coaches. We have an entire season worth of data to look at (multiple seasons really), there's no reason to over value what happens in one meaningless mid-tier bowl game.
If Dabo wants to fire those guys there's already plenty of justification for it.
IMO the only thing that would move the needle at all here would be a truly humiliating performance ala giving up 70 to WVU in the OB. So if Cade goes 10/30 for 50 yards and 5 INTs and a pick 6 or two we can possibly revisit this topic. And even if something that catastrophic were to occur, it's very unclear where the majority of the blame would fall as those types of things tend to fall at the feet of the QB and OC, not the WR coach.

No...If Dabo was gonna release Grisham he would have done so when he released Austin. Grisham will have 1 more season to right the WR ship
