other-wordly wise in being able to find just 2 hires to cover all the deficiencies in leadership that were rampant. Most folks would have needed AT LEAST 3 hires.
SO thankful for him and the 2 newbs for having the courage to jump in.
And you, too, FM - your posts are towers of blinding light in a very dark place.

I have not read anything on the boards that indicated the assistant basketball coach hires were Neff hires vs Brownell hires. Do you have some authoritative post or reference that backs up your post? Your posts are usually pretty good--I just have not seen anything along those lines regarding the assistant BB hires. The impression I got was that AD Neff was just approving the better quality assistants that Coach Brownell was going after!

Granted, that appears to be a good one. We'll find out starting soon. Neff doesn’t hire assistants... only signs off.

If Brownell's still around in the off-season, maybe Graham can turn his attention to Brad's attire, it's tragic.

In case you haven't noticed, football and basketball coaches don't often wear similar attire.

But good point - you think getting in more relaxing gear would help Brad's coaching ability?
Comparing Dabo and Brad.. that's one of the funnier troll jobs you've ever come up with.

Not sure you understand how college athletic hires work. Graham Neff is not credited with assistant hire. Coaches coach and administrators administer. Don’t coach well? Administrate - new coach. ?

but they also typically like to curate their own home game environment and I'm told the cool fire things during starting lineups were a Neff Production. Interesting stuff, but nobody can complain if these decisions are translating to double U's

ADs do not hire assistant coaches. Head coaches hire assistant coaches. Coach Brad Brownell hired Coach Billy Donlon. They have a long-time connection. Donlon gave up a head coaching gig to come to Clemson. He has been an incredible addition to the basketball staff. And it is way past time for you to break down and give Coach Brad Brownell some credit. The man can coach. Now go back into the Lunatic Fringe Clubhouse, lock the door, and stay there so the rest of us can enjoy this season.

Assistants make a huge difference and most coaches want their man. Case in point, when Frank McGuire was in his heydays at North Carolina and then South Carolina, he was a great recruiter, but when long time Asst. coach Buck Freeman died, so did McGuire's program.
