SC State Game Last year, Furman this year…

Sep 7, 2022, 9:20 PM

From what I remember we controlled this game and stats looked good. My overwhelming feeling was we didn’t look fluid on offense.

I’m looking for the improvement this year. Will our offense build off the Ga Tech game and execute more efficiently.

Not perfect, but with confidence. Less drops, more downfield success, better protection, better run blocking push.

What do you all think we see.

Got to see more against Furman. I mean, how can we not put up big numbers against these guys? We are much more talented, bigger, stronger, faster, better coaching, have the home field. I'll be disappointed if we don't hang fifty on the Paladins.

For me it’s not about the number but how efficient we are. We covered the spread against Ga Tech but it just didn’t feel good.

I’m not saying we gotta be perfect but I’d like to feel good about most of our drives even if they don’t end in scores.

I think we're going to see a lot of rain which will change the game significantly in ball security. There will be more dropped passes and handoffs will be dicey. Defense will be LIT as usual.
But, that is just my opinion.

I think Cade plays most of the 2nd half.***

How do you keep Gamecocks out of your yard?

Furman won't beat us obviously

They will play us tough for a while. They usually do. Our depth usually gets them. But they have smart kids who play fundamentally sound. And this is their Super Bowl. With the weather, barring a bunch of turnovers, I'd look for something like upper 30's, low 40's to single digits. Dabo does not pour it on teams like this, we all should know that by now. Tons of backups will get meaningful PT.

And it's probably not a bad thing for us to get in a foul weather game early.
