It's very difficult for me. I'm up for a state award and I have to brag about myself.
Makes me feel icky

A little self depreciation, lots of gratitude, acknowledge luck. That's a solid formula for a standard award blurb.
We'd be happy to write your speech if you let us know the gist of the award.

I would hate that. Why do you have to talk to yourself? Why can't you just be humble and say thank you and give credit to those around you?

Good evening, everyone. We're gathered here today to celebrate an extraordinary achievement, one that proves the old saying true: it's not about how you start, but how you finish.
Tonight, we honor FBC, a man who has defied expectations at every turn. Now, FBC might not be the wealthiest among us, nor is he the quickest on the uptake, but what he lacks in speed, he more than makes up for with a unique approach to work ethic that, let's just say, is all his own.
FBC, your journey has been one of remarkable persistence. Where others might have given up, you've shown us that sometimes, less can indeed be more. Your laid-back attitude towards the traditional grind has taught us all a valuable lesson: sometimes, the path to success isn't a sprint, it's more of a... very slow, thoughtful walk.
You've shown us that awards aren't just for those who run the fastest or work the hardest in the conventional sense. Instead, you've demonstrated that recognition can come from being true to oneself, from persisting in your own way, at your own pace.
This state award isn't just a testament to your achievement; it's a beacon of hope for all those who might not fit the mold. It's proof that success, in whatever form, is accessible to everyone, even if your methods are, shall we say, unconventional.
So, here's to you, FBC. May your success continue to inspire us all to embrace our unique qualities and to never let traditional expectations dictate our worth or potential. Congratulations, and may you continue to surprise us all with your uniquely effective style.

never say I.
obviously then lean on your expertise in real state, electricial work, structural engineering, exterior home renovation using sustainably sourced recycled materials, interior home renovations prioritizing a cohesive family bonding experience that lasts years, familiarity with Marxist principles, and the consistency of your teams' basketball PSI readings, despite this crazy winter we've had with temp fluctuations.

Make your acceptance a thank you to other folks. Family, God or the FSM, coworkers, people locally & globally who inspire you. Easiest way is to not talk about yourself at all, and just say thank you & acknowledge that it's a shared success with others around you.
That, or you just pull a Joe Burrow and light a cigar.
