TL,DW when they first started was Cade has nothing to rely on. Every young QB needs someone that they can trust to help them out. TL and DW had that. Not saying Cade is near either one of those guys but give him a Hunter Renfrow and a Mike Williams and you'd see a different QB

I agree. It's shocking how bad the WR play is. Grisham only has a job because he played at Clemson.

Beyond shocking. I had deluded myself to believe that somehow the off-season would help them get their Sh!t together and they would be an entirely different group.

DJ was outstanding as a freshman when he had Higgins and Ross and Rodgers to throw to.

Klubnik’s skills don’t include the deep shot. That is not to say that Klubnik won’t be a good QB for us. It’s just that long passing is not one of his abilities.

We saw that last year, and it hasn’t changed this year.

A QB won’t be accurate often enough to be a deep shot threat if, every time he throws long, he’s bursting blood vessels in order to heave the ball downfield. Just like a baseball pitcher, if he tries to throw harder than his technique will allow, then his control won’t be there.

Remember, Klubnik hurt his shoulder badly while in HS. At loaded Westlake High, he didn’t need a big & accurate gun to throw long TD passes as a HS QB in order to win.

It’s a different situation in college.

Good news is that Klubnik made two really outstanding intermediate route passes last night … truly outstanding passes into tight coverage. One was his completion to Briningstool and the other was on an out pattern to C.Turner in 2nd Qtr that got dropped.

Klubnik’s pocket presence also improved immeasurably from last year.
