A private equity firm led by former Disney executives has met with more than 25 power conference athletic directors to discuss "Project Rudy," a proposal for a college football super league, according to a report from Ross Dellenger of Yahoo.

"Additionally, the proposal includes a plan to eliminate all power conference games against Group of Five and FCS opponents in order to schedule more games that pit power conference opponents against one another". No more paying the smaller schools to play tune up games and no more App States or Northern Illinois upsets of the big boy schools. That alone would cut the financial tether for a lot of the smaller schools and possibly make their athletics budgets insolvent.
