Lone Star was bucket list for me too. We were tentatively planning on doing that if we ended up going to the Elloree Trials this coming March.

Are these trials Murdaugh-esque?

The Elloree Trials is the furthest thing from being LDR as there is in the horse

racing world. It's like a tractor pull except with horses. It's the last public event in the world where NUMEROUS Confederate flags fly at tailgates. The women are certified trailer park queens, and the vast majority of men there might be mistaken for Neanderthals. Anything fancier than a Budweiser in your cooler might bring shame to your entire tailgate. The vendors look like they buy their wares at Wings in Myrtle Beach, and you can still get an airbrushed t-shirt there.
And yet, it's STILL insanely fun.

Come on down to Aiken. We’ll paint the town red!
I’ll even try to get flow0440 to come to town and actually come out this time.

I just went to Scott's in Hemingway for the first time a few months back. Glad I made it there, although it wasn't that great. I still enjoyed the setup.

wasn't that good imo.
They served mostly a buffet of country food which was good, no doubt. More known for their fried chicken lately than bbq. Also had become a place to gather to see the local non professional bluegrass players in the area.
Go there all the time due to playing at Santee National golf course many times. Or went there that is.
