It was a straight Dive play but Cade took it amongst himself to pull it. In my opinion that deserves a benching but of course he’s our best available. This kid either has gone rogue or just doesn’t trust the play call(s)

Can there be a pinned comment that everyone can see that states the fact of the matter? Dabo said Cade went against the called play, and kept it. The play was a handoff to Shipley. That’s why it looked so stupid, it was a crazy thing for a player to do. I guess Cade thinks he knows more than the coaches.

Can anyone remember the last CU QB that acted as immature is Cade? I know he is "super-excited" about the season, super-psyched about his teammates, super-excited and loves this group, while also stating after the Duke fiasco that this team would "show the world" - well, that part is true.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Youre assuming Dabo is telling the truth.

Shaky ground there.

Cade confirmed the play call was a straight hand off and not a read

Oct 22, 2023, 9:14 AM

In the post game interview. He took responsibility for going off ######.

Watch it again and notice Cade searching

for an explanation. See if he looks like he’s not making something up on the spot.

LMFAO yes it’s a big ol conspiracy that Dabo came up with right after the game, some of you people are straight up clowns

It wouldn’t take a “big ol conspiracy.” The fact that you think it would speaks volumes.

What did Riley say about it when asked? Oh, that’s right — Dabo has drastically cut the media access to coordinators this year. Why? To control the messaging coming out of the program. Which is exactly what we’re discussing here.

But hey, just forget about all of that and keep being the kind of gullibly loyal fan Dabo is counting on you to be. Lol

I wonder what Cade’s tnet handle is? Lots of guys on here also think they’re smarter than the coaches.

I agree not giving it to Shipley

Oct 22, 2023, 9:05 AM [ in reply to Re: Running the naked QB boot on 4th and game ]

Kid can't pick up any positive yardage when defense knows he's getting it. In fact, he should be on the sideline yelling at himself in the mirror for his fumble and telling Mafah and Coach Spiller he's sorry for thinking he's that good.

I think Cade is either very unintelligent or very quietly arrogant/selfish and is looking to make himself the highlight reel for his NFL opportunity - sadly I would guess the NFL notices when you are a standout until teams get scouting videos to plan on how to defend you and then you look totally inept.

Maybe NIL players are harder to coach and develop and are less team focused. Unfortunately, that's the way of the future and we have to figure that out, too. Or maybe I'm giving the coaches too much credit, assuming they know what they are doing and the players aren't listening or respecting them (these are the same coaches that ran a whopping 17 seconds off the clock on our last drive, giving Miami another shot at winning in regulation).

Thank goodness for Brinningstool stepping up like a rock star or it could have been a blood bath. Defense looked good, but don't have the depth to be on the field that long.

Usually I try to find positives, but getting tougher - only three plays away from a perfect season - haha!

Everybody in Hard Rock Stadium knew we were going to hand it to

Shipley. I doubt it would have worked. But, it had a better chance than a wide play, where you HAVE to score. I don't understand why we were too proud to do a variation of the Philly "tush push". Line up our two beefiest guys behind Cade, with a hand on each butt cheek, and have them push him forward into the end zone! I guess that would have been too easy.

That play will be outlawed soon, but we shouldn't think we are too good to use it until it is. We have proven we can't gain a yard on 3rd OR 4th and short the conventional way!

the play was blocked well for Shipley - if CK and WS do what they are supposed

Oct 23, 2023, 1:31 PM

to, it's a TD. The only things that could screw it up were 1)CK going rogue- which he did 2)fumble - certainly possible with these guys 3) Shipley running it up the gut instead of where the walled lane the OL provided was - also possible as Shipley is great at making a line look bad even when they block well 4) Shipley tripping - also possible. The play should have worked had he just handed it off. That said, us punching it in again from the 3 for the 2pts was probably not going to happen. We need 4 downs to have a chance to score from there.

Ship may have found a 3" crease, but there was no hole there. After rushing 31 times for 37 yards as a team, with 20+ runs between left guard and center, it was surprising to see that failed play called again with the game on the line. So Cade went rogue.

its a zone block you run to where the gap is - although we can't trust Shipley

Oct 23, 2023, 5:08 PM

to do that, we had hats on all but the Safety which is the intent. Someone posted the still shots which make it easier to see, but we executed on that one with the blocking - a bit of ironic tragedy

On the goal line if the qb pulls it and runs it it seems to always go to the left.

He's been watching that movie Varsity Blue, thought that you can call your own play in high school you can do it in college too.

Evidently he can do it, in college, and keep his job. Not sure who was calling plays before ... but seems to me there is a new Sheriff in town.

Well from the "one year" experience from when I played in high school. If the coach called a play in a critical situation and we went out there and just ran something different. We would have had hell to pay and probably benched. That just wasn't done.
