Running backs

What do you think the rb rotation will look like in game 1?

At this point, I don't think that we will see Haynes for at least a few games. I think Randall might possibly be the starter against lsu and I think that Easy E and Gideon Davidson will both be in the rotation.

This is the first time in forever that I can remember us starting an unproven rb in game 1.

Hopefully with our experienced OL, we will get the running game clicking. I also think that Cade and our experienced wrs will have a good night too and take some of the load off of the running game.

Last season was a bust at RB

Not a jab at Mafah. He was significantly injured most of the year and had nothing in the tank. Coaches did not recruit, develop or play other RB's which tells us the coaches did not believe the other RBs were ready last season. This year will be an improvement with good health at RB position.

This year is a blank slate. Davidson is the only top RB recruit on the squad per so-called industry experts. Randall is an experiment playing RB after being ousted from the WR position. My take is Davidson and Eziomume are the RB tickets with high potential. Randall is learning a new position which rarely happens after middle and high school and starting against NFL-level talent at LSU. Hopefully, he can contribute in short yardage, block the position he's never played, and run without fumbling. I like Haynes but don't expect him to be ready until mid/late season due to last year's injury.

Davidson arrived in Jan with thousands of youth and high school reps (thousands more than Randall). Will CJ and Riley have him ready to contribute to an LSU game package? We will know soon. Optimistic.

I think Randall played some RB in HS. And as far as learning a new position, this guy named Hunter Renfrow was a QB in HS … I don’t think it is that unusual. Terry Allen was a DB as another example.

It is a bit unusual to switch positions this late in your collegiate career ****

Tyler Shatley switched from DT to OL his senior year and became an 11 year NFL starter. Please give us more of your wisdom good sir.

Charlie Waters comes to mind when I think of guys that successfully changed positions. Waters went from QB to WR at Clemson, and jumped to the defensive side once he was in the NFL with Cowboys. He played safety and CB before cementing his place at strong safety where he started for years.

Charlie was a favorite at Clemson but I remember thinking he would never make it in the NFL because of all the position changing. I was wrong. He even went from corner to safety in the NFL.

Not sure who is going to start at RB but we should have definitely picked up a proven, experienced RB out of the portal. Not sure why dabo didn’t do that🤷‍♂️

By now you would think that you guys would quit trying to say that Dabo needs to go into the portal to get players. He gets who he needs from where he gets them. Yes, we are free to express our opinion, but stop acting like we know more than he does. None of us have been at the practices to see what is going on. Just spot the ball and lets see what happens.

We had better backs on the roster than what was in the portal. Worry about your own #### portal players that you'll have to replace at the end of this season too.

Think you'll see a rotation of Randall, EZ and GD and the coaches will get whoever has the hot hand more touches.

I don’t know how much you have followed of preseason, but there is no doubt that Adam Randall is the starting running back and will get the vast majority of the carriers in game one.

Following that you’ll probably get a split between EZ and Keith Adams.

GD will get a couple situational carries but that’s about it. In a game of this magnitude I just don’t see them giving him much opportunity.

Who says Adam Randall Was ousted from the WR's?
He was a Good Wide receiver hindered by injuries.
Dabo has always said He is a phenomenal Athlete so moving him from a stacked WR room to running back make perfect sense. Get the man the Ball and we shall see.
We did not need a transfer from the portal!

Lots of RBs in the portal that Dabo could have taken and didn't. We gonna shock some folks w/our offense being even better than last year.

Want to know who is RB1? It's whoever can Pass Block. That's who. Above all - gotta keep Klubnic upright and healthy.
