Like we get it. Everyone is a transfer now. But do they have to make that the first thing they say about every player? At this point once a player leaves that school, it should no longer be a part of their identity.

It wouldn’t sting so bad if we had some guys that helped us like everyone else. Bond and Blue were big on that drive for Texas.

rival the same of boar hogs mired in mud, you understand why they collectively latch onto a keyword, phrase or idea and plunge headlong into mind-numbing banality that defies understanding.
Right now, it's the transfer portal. Soon enough, it will be the moolah gleaned from the NIL, then corporate sponsorships of individual collegiate teams. That latter one will perk some ears, no doubt. lol

More likely explanation is that the announcers used to latch into the phrase when transfers were much more rare.
Now it's likely it just a habit they can't break.

And there’s no issue bringing it up if it’s relevant or during a slow moment but the “big catch for the transfer from….”
Or “the Alabama transfer gets the first down” actively using it as an identifier in the middle of plays is too much. It just helps perpetuate the idea that its all rental players now
