She’s 93, retired at 65 and hasn’t had to touch her principle even during the downturns

Hire someone who will just manage your money and not try and sell you products .....like life insurance and annuities ..... any kind of gimmicks. Mine bases his fee on a percentage of my overall portfolio. The only way he increases his fee is to increase my portfolio.

I agree with using a fee only financial planner. It aligns your goals with the advisors. The larger your portfolio grows the better for you and the planner. So, the planner should be motivated to keep fees down.
I am sure there are many good ones, but I use Hans Blake at https://investedwithyou.com/

He's a CPA, certified financial planner, and CFA Charterholder and he is in Greenville

We use 2 Clemson grads in their 40’s. Offices in Seneca, columbia, and Myrtle Beach. SC business backed by a large financial firm’s technology. Cant go wrong withthem. If interested tmail me.
