the nuttiest politics in the whole country. I cannot for the life of me fathom why ANYONE would want to live in California. For me, it would be just like riding a motorcycle, yeah, it is fun at times, but the risks FAR outweigh the rewards. And the consequences of the risks can be permanent, life altering, or even get you the deads.

Opposing views?

It also has (at least) two world class cities, an economy the size of France, and is one of the breadbaskets of the nation. If you want to work in tech it has been the place to be for the past thirty years.

Cali is not for me, but I think it gets ragged on too much. In fairness, it makes itself an easy target.

saying, "Great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there."

Point Lobos has often been called "The greatest meeting of land and water that has ever existed." I'll just have to take their word for it, I will never get there except in pictures.

I would surely have loved to have played Pebble Beach at some point while I was still able to play golf. The views every year when they show the PGA Tour tournament there are the most spectacular in the world. But, again, that's a visit, not living there.

Those 2 world class cities are over built and the surrounding land is unable to provide appropriate resources. Now their environment is over stressed and they expect everyone else to bail them out.

Yep their economy is big and their State is bankrupt. What's that tell you about their stewardship of resources?

That State is like a beauty queen with a rotten soul. Sure it's beautiful to look at but who wants to pay for that kind of up keep and get nothing in return.

No thanks. I went to the Northern part of the State when I was a tweenager and that will probably be the only time I visit, unless someone else is paying the bill.

south Florida, you can't even get one of your traditional insurance companies to write any property insurance in the South Florida/Keys area. Even then, flood and wind coverage costs as much literally as the mortgage.

There is also the hidden cost in FL as the State and communities try to harden their roads, bridges and other infrastructure to hurricanes.
