Another reason against early signing

I think its great when recruits can team up and get momentum for us by signing in succession. But it poses a problem for the program when stuff like this happens... would dabo still recruit this kid with a torn acl? Hard to say but other programs are breathing a sigh of relief it wasnt one of their own

Because every day we're all wishing that Tony Steward's scholarship could have been spent elsewhere, right?
Come on man...

Agreed. When he gets injured he should get fired from work too.

Not saying he didnt earn his scholly

Just wondering if an unrecruited player with a known ACL injury gets a CU offer.
Nothing against this kid. Wishing him all the best, hoping he can help the program as much as the program can help him.
More reason for the LATE recruit signing. There's a reason why Law School and Med School don't accept people until their final years of training. Why is football any different? The earlier you recruit, the bigger risk there is.

Law and medical schools wait until it is close to time to enter the school, just like football. We are not offering 8th graders. Law and medical schools don't rescind your acceptance if you have an accident and become paralyzed.
Take your chicken brain and fly over to the hen house.

you don't know Dabo very well. Several times he has still honored a scholi after a young man has committed and got hurt and could no longer play fb.
Plus the kid is not an early signee, he is just a committ.
And how do you know how fast the kid will heal?

Assuming he has surgery right away, he has a full year to rehab and be ready for fall camp. How do we not stick by this guy? We are Clemson, not S. Carolina.

just uninformed?
We don't drop commitments because of injury.
There is no early signing period and if there was or not - we would take him - bo ifs, ands or buys.
Most coaches want an early signing period.

WHAT?!?! For one a torn ACL comeback is MUCH quicker than it used to be we have seen that first hand, also if im not mistaken Tajh tore his during his SR year as well and had to have surgery before he got here...so you are saying you would not have recruited him, LOL come on man

That's a pretty harsh statement there. So is asking the poster be removed as well. Esp if that one link is your only other reason. The poster makes a reasonable, rational point there, unlike in this case. It's also a little harsh to call them Coot. I don't do that much commenting here. For that reason alone, I was also called coot by a fellow poster. I've actually been called coot a couple of times. This is the only place I've ever seen Tiger fans call fellow Tiger fans Coot. In my case, it was cuz I didn't "comment much," and cuz I had criticized our roster management. That is really deserving of being called Coot, I tell you what. Idk the history of this poster you're asking to be removed, I'm just looking at this comment and the one you linked. If that's all ya got, it's fairly premature to banish someone.

I remember a recent Clemson quarterback named Boyd who suffered a torn ACL in his senior year of high school.

He would have had a season or two before being on the field anyway, IMO. If he develops his body, along with the knee, he may be force in few years. Fortunately we have talent in front

Recent/current players who tore an ACL in high school and became starters at Clemson. And in Tony's case he tore his other ACL while here.
Keep your head up young man and rehab that knee, an orange helmet with a white paw is waiting for you.
