Missouri or T A&M, how would you all honestly feel and how would it have affected Clemson Football? I grew up with Clemson in the ACC but I think eventually Clemson would become extremely competitive and win the SEC championship before usc does.

I think Missouri answered that question for a lot of people.

Texas A&M too, for that matter.
We would have been fine.

I wish we would have taken any opportunity to rid ourselves of the ACC. SEC would have been a blessing to Clemson. We might actually be benifiting from the SEC media bias.

Dabo would be dangerous not losing those 2 recruits a year

(8 over 4 years) that just have to play in the SEC. Imagine this team right now with the 8 lowest rated players replaced with 8 4-5 star players. THAT'S what it would be. As pointed out above, USuC taking 20 years to compete just meant they sucked. A&M and Mizzou proved you could compete from the get go.

into 2nd or 3rd-to-last place in the SEC with regards to total student enrollment numbers?
Think about that for a second; yes, Clemson would be rated better than most SEC schools in academics but a lot of SEC homers would barely notice if Clemson joined their ranks & likely would have little to no effect on team championships... yep, especially in football.
Make no mistake, it is certain that Clemson would have a winning conference record in football at least on occasion but try to be completely honest here; the SEC is the cream-of-the-crop with regards to football.
I believe it's in the best interests of Clemson to stay where it's at.

Clemson was not invited to join the SEC. Clemson would not bring the SEC any additional TV markets. With MO and TA&M the SEC added the second largest state(Texas) as well as Missouri(St. Louis and Kansas City). It was business decision. Why would we leave the ACC with no place to go?

Markets are big--just look at the ACC in NY BUT even bigger
Jun 4, 2015, 9:32 AM

is rivalry games and Clemson vs UGA, Clemson vs Auburn, Clemson vs Tennessee, Clemson vs Alabama, Clemson vs Texas A&M, Clemson vs Florida, Clemson vs USuC, and the huge showdown of Death Valleys--Clemson vs LSU would have given the SEC even more than a Missouri market or an ACC NY market that could care less about Clemson vs Syracuse or Clemson vs Virginia for that matter.
GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!

staff on the recruiting trail now, Give them that So Called SEC bump in recruiting and no one could out recruit Dabo and Staff. Face it, all they can use now is "WE PLAY IN THE SEC" to recruit against him. like wise , take the recruits out of the SEC and they lose as many as 10-15 recruits a year. They'd be back to recruiting 2 stars ,hoping for an occasional 3 star. That's the reality of the FACTS.

"my coots"???!!! Sorry "armbs". I enjoy a lot of your posts but this one is out there somewhere. I'm not a coot...never have been, never will be. My niece plays softball for usc and i still do not pull for them. It was hard for me to stomach her going there but I understood her reasoning. So...you need to reconsider your post.

Get to play Jawja every year and make road trips to places like Knoxville and Lexington.
It would have helped with recruiting and Clemson would get more money.

So , as usual , you're wrong. Just because it took USuC , a bottom feeder for most of it's existance 20 years to compete, NEVER think other programs are like you.

I do not want Clemson to ever be a part of the SEC. I also am old enough to know things are cyclical. The SEC is on the way down the ACC and other conferences are on the way up.
