Recruiting This Week PT: 1 Big Update

For those of us that follow recruiting, or are just college football fans in general, it feels like we are a week away from Christmas. June is around the corner and that is when the overlords of the NCAA have deemed it finally "safe" for athletes to visit colleges for the first time in over year, so let's get started talking crutin'.

-I have spoken at length about the class of 23' QBs and where Clemson stands with regards to guys such as Nelson, Manning, Iamaleava, and Moore. Clemson is still searching for who they will choose to push for. While it is two classes away it is not too early to mention a local guy that is earning national attention and is on Clemson's radar. Class of 24' QB Jadyn Davis of Catawba Ridge, Fort Mill, has been on the radar for the past two years as a serious candidate for the top quarterback in that class. Davis already has multiple camp/visit dates set up with many of the nation's best. Clemson will get a visit on June 3rd while he will also go to UGA who has already offerd, Bama who has already offered, Oklahoma, OSU, and Penn State. I am going to warn y'all to the pump the breaks a little, could Davis be the best QB that cycle yes, could he also be the next MJ Morris, who many said would be the next Deshaun, who is now ranked around 200, also yes. Only time will tell, but Clemson will get a chance to evaluate the player and not just the hype soon, but it would be nice to have a 5* QB in your backyard.

-I brought Jared Kanak to y'all's attention a couple of weeks ago as a player who could potentially fill Clemson's LB spot, he got Clemson's attention with impressive times at track events. I said that if Clemson offered it would be a commit on spot type of deal, potentially, unless some other big names got involved. And just like that all the big boys are taking notice Bama, UGA, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, USC, and Florida have all put their name in the hat recently. Despite this, what I have gathered, still points to Kanak being Clemson's if they so choose; however, he has wasted no time to act on that Bama offer as he will most likely take an official there the 19th. Like I said I still think that Clemson controls this, but they now have to work for it if they want him.

-Another guy that has peeked Clemson's interest to fill the final spot is DeMario Tolan out of Florida he has recently scheduled a visit to Clemson on June 3rd, he also will be going to LSU, Miami, And Auburn.

-Just last week Clemson offered Ga. CB Caleb Coley, and I told y'all that he would be visiting June 8-9. Clemson is again going to control this recruitment, they would like to come out of the Summer with their CB spots filled to avoid what has happened the previous two cycles, and they feel Pride, Lukus, and Coley could all commit in the Summer, unlike a Daylen Everette, who will most likely not visit in June and UNC seems to be making a push. Coley will rise in the rankings FYI, and a haul of Lukus, Pride, and Coley would be a very good one.

-There was a camp in NC this weekend, and it had a lot of potential targets that I will mention below:

-One of the names was Xzavier McLeod DT in the class of 23". He will be at Clemson June 4th, and FSU and U of SC also. U of SC has a lot of connections here, just something to watch,

-Another DT from that class that caught attention was Jamaal Jarrett. He will be at Clemson June 11th, and will also look at the NC schools, plus a couple of Florida schools. Clemson will be a major player here.

- I mentioned Tolan and Kanak as guys Clemson was looking at to fill the LB spot; another who is getting a look is Mauldin's Deuce Caldwell. He earned LB MVP at the camp and he will be at Clemson on June 1st and then UNC and UCF later in the month; again if Clemson offers they become the leader.

-I brought WR Noah Rodgers to y'all's attention around a month ago after being able to watch some of his film, and then two weeks ago I told you he planned to camp at Clemson on June 6th. Rodgers showed out and won Alpha Dog for his performance for his performance at the camp. He will also visit UNC, Duke, and Penn State, but I think that the big buys will come around sooner rather than later. I think that this has all the makings of a Clemson vs. UNC battle, again.

-The #4 WR in the country for 23' was also at the event in NC, Christian Hamilton who is from NC, he has visits to OSU, UGA, FSU, A&M, and Auburn. He does not yet have a Clemson date scheduled, but he is working on getting one arranged.

-Texas got an early commit from class of 23" 5* RB Rueben Owens, but Owens wants to take a look at the top dawgs. As a result Bama, OSU, and Clemson will all get their chance to sway his commitment to Texas. He is also good friends with Arch Manning, FYI.

-READ: A Derion Kendrick update, it sounds as though many believe that the charges against him will be dropped or reduced. If that were to happen UGA will push for him, according to a pretty good source. Again this is all rumors which is why I debated including it, but just to update y'all on what could potentially happen.
