Received and signed an offer letter last night.

I'm really taking a leap up the ladder, both in pay and responsibility. Nervous and excited. Haven't worked since July 1 and won't start the new job until September 6, but will pocket the majority of my severance and am receiving a signing bonus. My salary increase will be like having an extra salary in the household. My former employer really did me a favor by cost reducing me.

I don't foresee much changing other than maybe planning another international vacation sometime in the future. Those took a hiatus with 2 kids in college and my wife's masters degree.

I upped my IRA savings and started a different brokerage account last year, so that's cool. So far most of my significant raise has gone this 50 year old house having issues and of course the car wants to get its piece to.
