kid that is 11 years old just spent all weekend sleeping behind a gas station. No one said anything, no one called the police, no one called CPS. Gas station clerks knew he was back there, but didn't want "to get involved"
I can't find mom or dad or grandma. Mom was at the Lions game last night, but that is all I know.
Kid says that he can't go back home because his dad will beat him for talking to me. He has a puffy cheek, which I am sure is a product of dad.
Unreal how sad the whole situation is.....sucks as there is almost zero I can do for the kid.
Sorry to be a debbie downer on Monday, just needed to vent all of this.....

iS Child Services in Detroit saying that the kid has to stay behind the gas station until they find the mother so they can intervene? Since when did any arm of the government on ANY level need a mother's permission to get involved with a case like you're describing?

Mom is in jail
Kid was supposed to be at friend’s house. Mom of friend kicks him out for being disrespectful. He then goes and slept in a culvert at a park one night. Last night he slept behind the gas station. (Super super super dangerous one too….like a no go zone gas station)
Found this morning and I grabbed him and took him to Target and got him some clothes. Took him to school, while I figured out the rest.
He is now in emergency custody with CPS. I finally lost my cool and made them take him into custody.
What a day.

Well...there is much more than zero you can do for the kid.
1. Call the police and other appropriate authorities
2. Stay with him until they come, and you know they are going to take him somewhere safe
3. Kid is probably hungry and thirsty. Get him some food and and water.
4. Now, this is optional - go into the gas station and choke the clerk out for knowing and not helping this kid.
