Curious if either of you have been involved with travel baseball? Supposedly she's already bought uniforms and much of their equipment. Money being raised is for probably 15 or more kids AND their families for lodging and food. I wouldn't pay for all of that either, I don't care if I'm Elon Musk.

I have friends that make a decent bit more than me text me about donating to their son's travel ball team. I'm like, "dude... our kids are friends. My kid plays sports too. If you're hard up for money, you can come cut my grass for $20.".
It's begging, pure and simple. No different than pan-handling. What happened to pride?
Man it infuriates me.
You wanna hit up your parents to help fund their grandkids stuff and money is tight... none of my business.... otherwise it's trash behavior.
Those same people take multiple extravagant trips each year, are members of swanky country clubs and have expensive hobbies... they have the audacity to ask my white-trash myrtle beach vacationing, carhartt (non-ironically) wearing azzzz for little Braxton's travel ball fees???? eat a dink.

My MIL (who ain't poor) started a go fund me for my loser brother in law when he almost died over the summer on a one wheel. I'm sure they thought husband of and I were heartless for not donating or sharing the go fund me, even though my MIL reached out to tell me she knew it looked tacky.
A couple months later he and his wife bought a new car... hmmmmm, medical bills my ###.
