WR Recruiting 2025

Height / Weight of offered players ...

Mills 6'1" / 170
Brown 5'11" / 165
Allen 5'7" / 170
Preston 5'10" / 150

Safe to say we're not going after the A.J. Brown types.

Going after speed at all cost. Look at Conception for NC State. They don’t have him we win. Ga Tec with Rutherford won a few games because of him.Got to have speed regardless of size to get open.

Height can be important, but isn't an indicator of whether a receiver will be great or not. Few examples of NFL Wide Receivers under 6 feet.

- Elijah Moore - 5'10"
- Odell Beckham Jr.- 5'11"
- Hunter Renfrow - 5'10"
- Christian Kirk - 5'11"
- Darnell Moody - 5'11"
- Diontae Johnson - 5'10"
- Tyler Lockette - 5'10"
- Jalyn Waddle - 5'10"
- Tyreek Hill - 5'10" (#1 WR in the NFL this year)

We need a mix of body types and attributes. Having a bunch of 6'3" guys doesn't matter if they are slow or can't get open. We need smaller, shifter guys who will add some speed to the group.

Heck I’ll even settle for bigger shiftier guys who will add some speed to the group.

This and we just landed the tall guys in this class. Need to definitely beef up the speed.

Was it 3 years ago when all of tigernet complained we have nothing but big bodies and need a shifty slot guy? Back when it was ngata, Ej Williams and collins starting?

Wescoe 6'2" 180. Look for Moore and Wescoe to both make a decent jump at the next Big Weigh In in August. Other than Randall, they are all freshmen and sophomores.

Having a good combination of size and speed is a good thing.

Seeing Hanafin sprint down the field on punts last year gives me a lot of hope for him. He might make a heck of a safety if wr doesn't work out. Kid is a big, strong athlete.

Speedsters can stretch the field but it's good to have a 6'5" "rebounder" that can box out and get the 50/50 balls inside the red zone. It helps with scoring and opening up the middle for the run.

How do you know we don't? We just had a recruiting class. How do you know these new recruits are not capable of this?

I will hang up and listen.

Men at 25 play football. Men at 40 play tennis. Men at 60 play golf. Have you noticed as men get older their balls get smaller.

I'd like to see closer to 200lbs. It helps when trying to block out on the edge.

Yep, players quit growing after we offer. Lol
