Of course Collins quit on the route, and it didn't work, but taking a shot on 2nd and short isn't a horrible idea.

Actually quite common. Naturally the thought is is that after an incompletion, then 3rd and 3 is manageable.

2nd and short deep ball is not “stupid”

It’s just not smart football for a team searching for some cohesion.

Coaches calling game like it’s TL16 to Tee when we have nothing resembling that.

Play yo strengths, get 1st downs, move the ball down the field. Absolutely no need for deep ball to Collins who is simply doing nothing for the team. Nothing

Not stupid. Still sets up manageable third down. Rather we passed again on third down tho. Collins doesn’t quit on the route that could been a huge play.
