On paper, they are very similar in every way. Both around 4.6/4.7 40 time. Both about 6'4 210.
It's a coin toss. CV had several more high profile offers.

All I can say is Heberts arm talent, mechanics, and especially his release are NFL caliber. Between the ears I’m not sure but if he has the mental part he could be an absolute gem. Was never really impressed with CVs film considering the competition he was going against.

Watch videos on Hebert and you come away impressed by this 11th grader. Seems to me another Trevor Lawrence on the way.

I dont know, but I definitely believe in Hebert after watching his film. I am not sure who is better.

IMHO it’s Herbert. He appears to be tough as nails and a gamer. I still have hope that Vizzina figures it out and takes off though.

It’s most certainly Hebert. He fits this offense to a T.
Vizzina will never play meaningful snaps at Clemson barring an injury to Cade. That kid was as overrated a QB as I’ve seen.

I guess seeing him in high school multiple times doesn’t count. The competition level where he came from wasn’t great. He should have been jumping off the screen as the best player on the field with what he was rated.
As a SR in high school his team was awful and that was with him playing. If a guy is really that dude… especially a QB… he should be able to lift his team especially in high school football.
He was better as a JR but I’m sorry 16 TD and 7 INT as a SR with a I believe 3-7 record doesn’t inspire much confidence on the surface. I actually seen him multiple times with my own eyes.
He is a kid that was rated high based PURELY on PROJECTION. Do you really believe after what we’ve seen the last 3/4 years that our staff can develop a QB that isn’t already developed?
Maybe there is hope with Riley… we’ll see. Vizzina is purely projection on what he can be. Maybe we’ll revisit this thread after he transfers or graduates. My prediction is he will never play meaningful snaps at Clemson barring an injury situation.
Get mad or throw a temper tantrum if you want but that’s what I believe. Of course I could be wrong. I’ve been wrong before and will be again I’m sure of it but we’ll see.

and you disagree with his consensus 4* rating and the 7th (ESPN), 6th (Rivals), and 9th (247) best QB in the entire country. That’s pretty good huh? Apparently the people who do this for a living saw lots that you (allegedly) didn’t.
He completed 64% of his passes for his career and threw 43 TDs against 19 INTs. His team won 10 games when he was a junior but the TEAM had a bad year when he was a senior and it’s not a reflection on his skills.
No he’s not Trevor or Deshaun and requires development like most all QBs. Nonetheless being a consensus top 10 QB in the country makes you look like a fool.
Sorry, I don’t believe you. I don’t think you ever saw him play, but have fun with your story.

I can't see CV17 sitting for three years if he's good at all, he will transfer out if he can't beat out Cade for the starting job.

Then he needs to transfer. Dabo has already said that Cade is our starter next year and CV is the backup. That is the reason we are not winning the natty next year. Elite QB is a must and we simply haven't seen elite QB play in like 3 or 4 years! If Hebert isn't elite it will be like 6 years because we do not force competition at QB in our current culture. Mind-boggling!!!!!

Lot of hype around Vizzina when he signed but then he was basically fourth string in a not particularly strong QB room so who knows what the deal is there. Excellent QB prospects don't redshirt when they are perfectly healthy so I wouldn't get my hopes up with him although plenty of guys who weren't anything special when young became decent to very good QBS as upperclassmen. Doubt he sticks around to sit on the bench for long though

I hope you're right but redshirting someone who may be the second best player on the team, at what's the most important position on the team, doesn't make much sense. Luckily CK stayed healthy but what if we had needed someone to play for a few games and he wasn't available due to redshirting. Would seem pretty bizarre. More likely is he redshirted because he wasn't ready to see the field. Nothing wrong with it taking him a couple of years but it certainly isn't great either, especially when guys are leaving constantly for more playing time.

Who knows. I struggle to get too excited about Hebert yet, he missed his entire Junior season. Not too mention the competition he plays against is very low, nothing even close to what Cade played against. How can anyone on this board think he will be a slam dunk. The fact that we are not taking a QB in 2024 is troubling to me. Given injuries, portal and eval misses, this seems like a huge mistake. Add to this that Hebert missed his Junior year and the huge development jump most high school QB's make. Big roll of the dice.

Absolutely agree CU Tiger.
But the question was… which has more upside? Since we only have 2 choices we have to pick one.
The tape I’ve saw on Hebert is miles better than anything I ever seen Vizzina do and as I said… I saw him multiple times with my own eyes.
I also agree that not taking a QB in this class is a huge mistake. We are one play away from Cade going down to being absolutely screwed. If that were to happen it won’t take people long to see what I already know. Vizzina is not ready and I doubt he ever will be at Clemson.
Again… Vizzina is all projection. It’s about what he could be bc he has the size and a good arm. But his actual tape leaves a lot to be desired. He was offered based on potential.
Potential is the most dangerous word in football bc that means that player has done absolutely nothing and we’re all hoping he can become what his projection says he could but again… that’s assuming maximum development and after the s*it show I’ve seen at QB from this staff since TLaw left… I don’t have much confidence they can actually develop him to his maximum potential.
