As a recent graduate, he needs to make the best decision for Will Shipley. I think that is turning pro now, before he suffers a major injury. Although, Travis Etienne came back and improved his stock! On the other hand, Taj Boyd did not.....
Love to see him back in Orange in Death Valley next year, but if he moves on it is understandable.

I disagree! I think he needs to come back and bank all his NIL money because I don't think he gets drafted after this season. He needs a yr of more receiving yds, less fumbles at costly times, more YPC and more than 5tds rushing, 2 receiving. Coaches need to stop running him up the gut because he just isn't that type of back. He needs more open space for him to shine as he gets tackled wayyy too easy in the trenches.

gut. He always gets the tough yards. Just because he’s met at the line of scrimmage by two or three defenders doesn’t mean he can’t do it. He bulled his way to several important first downs in this game. He has amazing strength. On Mafah’s two long runs he had huge holes to go through. Will is very hard to corral when given a little room.

agree. people have such short memories. Shipley has been getting tough yards for us the last couple yards. The line played like absolute garbage for about 5 straight games this year. Neither RB could do anything up the gut

Shipley in the NFL is laughable. He thinks he’s Christian McCaffery and he’s far from that. What position is he playing in the NFL?? What NFL team is looking for a step too slow white kid who cannot break a long run because he always gets tripped up. A back who literally is the worst pass blocker we’ve ever had in the backfield and is a mediocre receiver out of the backfield. Oh yeah and I forgot to add, a self absorbed whiney little prick who thinks he’s way way way more important than he is?? Which NFL team is looking for that guy?? The team was better, significantly better when he wasn’t on the field?? Hmmm??? I’ve never recalled when we’ve had great players injured and miss games and the team performed much better without them? The best thing for Clemson is Shipley to leave. Period. He’s not a leader he’s a cancer.

It is good news that he will be fine without having to have any long term rehab. I'm hoping that he returns for another season, but, with him being close to making that decision and actually seeing how easy it could have been to receiving a long term injury, it makes me think that he will enter the NFL so he can get paid for all the work he's had to put in over his life time. As much as I would love to have him and Mafah back next season, it would be a dumb decision for Shipley to come back, IMO!!!

They got a field goal out of his return. The tigers scored how many points? How many was Shipley responsible for? Oh that’s right 0!!! A giant goose egg. What is it about this kid that has people drinking the kool aid?? He’s average at best?? Watch backs from Michigan, Georgia, FSU, Washington, Texas Alabama, Shipley wouldn’t be third string on those teams. He isn’t quick, he isn’t sudden. Has zero burst and doesn’t have the speed to get away from linebackers and linemen. He’s a mediocre receiver and the worst pass blocker I’ve ever seen for Clemson running backs under Dabo. He’s selfish, all about himself and the team was far better without him. Best thing that could happen is he turns pro. The team was better without him. Look at the numbers. Shipley has weighed this team down and Dabos blind loyalty for him did as well

You know what the Running Backs from all of those schools have in common? They all have very good offensive lines. Hate to tell you this but the last season ETN had with us was mediocre at best due to an offensive line that was already in Rapid decline. And it's only gotten worse since then. But tell me otherwise one how any other running back would have done so much better. Everybody loves Phil. Why? Because everybody loves the backup better. That adage is as old as time when it comes to football. Whatever he does I will be thankful for his contributions. I don't know how we can keep both but if so that's great. I do worry about transfers from the underclassmen if that's the case however.

I never mentioned Phil. Compare ETN’s numbers to Shipley’s at any point. First off if ETN had made the egregious mistakes in pass blocking he’d be out of the game. Not will? Not the great white hope!! He should have been a bull fighter because he’s the king of the olé when it comes to picking up a blitz. How many times did Shipley “almost” break one?? He was the king of the 11 yard run only to get caught by the turn monster or a DT.. he had no quickness no ability to make a defender miss. If there wasn’t a gaping hole for will it was a one yard gain at best. No chance he makes a play on his own. The kid was an FCS Talent level at best. Doesn’t belong in the backfield of a team that is in the nations top 25. Of every school ranked in the top 25 he was by far the worst back among them. Argue that point I’d love to hear it.

He’s a good running back but not awesome. A scat back kind of a guy. A Mafah/Shipley combo is good. Put them both in at same time and we could go power or edge. Each back has his own strength.

Shipley is one of my favorite Tigers and I don’t want to lose him. However, I have heard Ship is headed pro from a reliable source. I love for my reliable source to be somewhat unreliable on this lol

If he wants to play in the NFL, Shipley needs to come back for another year. Not sure it would be much better than this year, but it could be. Right now, he'd probably get a 4th or 5th round draft grade and might not get taken until the 6th or 7th. Might do better after next season.
