I'll say it like I've said before and others have said, why is Alabama and LSU ranked ahead of Clemson? And don't say "body of work".
For one, LSU lost to FSU, Bama lost to LSU, Clemson beat FSU at their place. There are more examples too.

Apparently the word out is they think alabama is a better team ? ?. It's the same ol song and dance with alabama. No one is actually brave enough to say that they are not..I guess no one wants to make ol Saban mad. But yet..the latest bowl predictions are alabama and clemson..so you tell me

the voters and polls until the very end of the season when the final POC rankings are released. Until then the preseason polls have great influence on weekly polls.
We're lucky to have found the best team ranked at the #1 spot in the final poll though we have seen several participate in the playoffs which were not worthy to be ranked high enough to do so.

watch the games, they were all busy coaching, playing and dealing with media yesterday. The POC will be watching film today, more than just highlights of ESPiN's favorite teams (SEC).
The committee frustrates the dickens out of ESPiN's spin doctors.

I see that the coaches poll didn't drop 10AC as low as they dropped Clemson, and Clemson loss to a better team by 21, than 10AC did by 25, Nobody can with any honesty can say there isn't any bias when comparing Clemson to SEC teams, and all Clemson has done was beat most of the ones they played in the past 10 years!!!

weekly ranking such that the preseason ranks dominate the early season polls and do so less and less as the season progresses. The first PO poll has always closely reflected the AP and coaches' polls.

should be ahead of Tennesee. Tennessee has wins over #6 and #7. Penn States best win is.... Purdue? Is there really any reason LSU and Bama are ahead of Tennessee either?
Was it just the shock of giving up 63 to the chickens?

and play a competitive game against ND. Win that and we're #3 or #4 and in the playoffs. Play a close game loss, and we're up two places to 6th.
The way I see it, we didn't look like a top 20 team at ND. We were rewarded with money in the bank to not have fallen further.
