hope was an odd word choice
but again they have zero WRs that resemble what Clemson Football has put into the NFL
so i don't think any QB would look good with that current room (without Moore and Wesco)

dont come in and have immediate impact. next years offense is going to be more of the clunky same. but at least we have principal and didnt offer any portal wrs any nil to come play though

good. But, we are still missing that big, physical game-breaker like Watkins/Williams/Higgins. Stellato is definitely not in that category, but has proven he can get open and make the catch. I don't think our WR group is a bad as some believe; I just think we have been spoiled and haven't hit on one of those NFL type superstars over the last few cycles. Hopefully we are getting that with Wesco and Moore. Between that, a revitalized OL, and a year of experience, I am hopeful that our passing game with Cade looks better in 24.

Not exactly the way it's always been said. I have always heard that a good QB can make a receiver look good, and a good receiver can make a QB look better than he is... Is that not the way that it goes?

Of course it's vague. He's been a 3rd stringer, and has very few reps in practice and in games. We don't know what we have until he's get more opportunities. Of course, on TNET, Dabo can't win. If he says something optimistic he's a cheerleader, and if he is honest about where a player is, he's too vague, and everyone tries to break the secret code of what he's really saying..............

ProjectTiger apparently doesn't have a clue about the sarcasm I had in my post with ESECPN's description of an SEC type player. Be assured that I know when someone is being an A$$HOLE when they read something they don't understand or have a clue and will TD the post.
I can imagine how tired his mouse clicking finger gets on the slack days when T-Net post are mostly filled with sarcasm post of guys attempting to cheer the board up without being to serious. I bet the clicker finger on ProjectTiger is wore out at the end of one of those days. Find yourself a hobby or something ProjectTiger and lighten up, or learn to recognize sarcasm when it's clearly marked as sarcasm!!!

Unless there is some " divine infusion " of talent bestowed upon CK and CV it is really hard to hope for much of an improvement in the offense. No upgrades was made to the Oline personnel, the WR's lost a starter and the offense is dependent on 2 freshman WR'S who are being touted as the 2nd coming of Sammy Watkins. Something about this is just not adding up. I hope I'm wrong but the lack of upgrades as well as Cade's limited physical skillset and his erratic play isn't positive. With CKs performance you'd have thought if CV was good as advertised he may have gotten more playing time last season. As far as Pearmam when I hear the description given of " Little Baller " we all know what that means and it doesn't translate to making a big impact on the field on Saturday's. The good thing is the opening game against UGA will let you know where things stand real quick.

Like when Kelley and Trevor were “competing”. (Of course, there was a wider variance in quality between those two)
You never really know how players are going to perform until there are “live bullets” being fired at them.
IMO so far Cade has performed at a ‘B’ level.. sometimes higher, sometimes lower, but his decision making under pressure is not good at all. There have been too many “chuck it up and pray” moments that have had the chance of being intercepted (and several have been).
A real open competition will help both players … Cade will have to step up. And CV will get the opportunity to show what he has.
Of course, Cade gets the tire, but I hope there is good, honest evaluation so the best QB starts. Either way, I sure hope we get to see some meaningful snaps for CV this season … or even in the bowl game … to see how he performs … IF he deserves them.

I can agree with most of what you're saying with the exception of Cade performing better than a B grade. Honestly, I think that the speed of the game is still a little to fast for him. I really hope that after summer workouts and Fall practice he can play the college level game like he played in HS bc if he can do that, he will play like we all expected him to play, and that is simply awesome bc that is what he was as a HS QB!!!

Cade needs to raise his level to be elite in college like he was elite in high school. That’s a tall task, but one HE has to decide to do- and the coaches need to help him get there even if they have to be tough on him. And there’s nothing like competition to motivate someone to take that next step.
If he does get to the level we all think he can get to, he’ll be in good company with Deshaun and Trevor.
… however it’s up to Cade to improve his overall performance. In sports there’s always someone working to take your place, so if you’re not improving, you’re falling behind.
I believe in Cade.. let’s get to work!!

That's who I read was the QB coach, and with that I also read he was the man that could turn a good QB into a great QB. If that is true, we will see bc I believe that he has a pretty subject to work with in Cade Klubnik!!!

Going back and looking at Vizzina’s offer list would make you think he could be great. UGA and Ohio st. Offered him. Along with many of the other top schools.
Same with Klubnik. We have talent at QB. Hopefully it finally comes to light this year

Who has been working specifically to develop our QBs? It is important to have a backup who is ready to play at any moment because at any moment the starter could go down. Buzzing was highly recruited, and he’s been with the program for a spring and an entire regular season; WHY ISN’T HE READY TO PLAY NOW??? He’s supposedly the most highly talented and highly rated QB on our roster aside from Klubnick. He should be ready to play NOW. If he’s NOT we have a real problem with QB coaching and development. Considering the lack of improvement by Klubnick over the course of the season I don’t think there’s any way you can deny that.

Klubnik improved a lot during this past season.
He was awful vs Duke and Chas. Southern.
He was OK (not awful, but clearly not good) by the time of FL State game.
By the Miami game, he was actually good for the most part, but had still not gotten past the problem that continues to plague him; his ‘I am the hero’ complex.
Not much change for Klubnik since Miami game. His pocket presence is much better than the start of the season; decision making (in general) is much better. In big moments, however, he reverts to his ‘I am the hero’ mentality and then screws up. He simply MUST improve in big moments before he can achieve ‘very good’ stature.
Klubnik is not a strong armed QB; that is how God made him. We can succeed at a high level with him despite his average arm strength.
(?). Can he improve upon his (erratic) accuracy? This aspect, along with his decision making during ‘big moments,’ will determine whether Klubnik becomes a CFB star or has topped out as a pretty good QB.

Cade hardly got the chance to play in a game his first year which made his transition to starting in his second year a little slower. Maybe he wasn’t quite ready, but the coaches should have worked harder to get him ready.
Our #2 needs to be as ready as our #1 to step in and play at (nearly) the same level. He can only do that if he’s playing some minutes in games.

Man I just hope HH finds a landing spot and doesn't end up like Tucker Isreal and never find a landing spot. H. Helms is a good kid and deserves a chance to be a starter somewhere.

I very much had hoped that H.H. had gotten meaningful snaps during the first half of the season. From what we had seen of him in the Spring and in his very limited action during this past season, H.H. displayed better arm strength, accuracy, and decision making than Klubnik. H.H. showed that he could run well enough to move the chains; he is also a stronger runner than Klubnik.
Doesn’t matter anymore.
It’s now the Klubnik / Vizzina show. I’m confident that Clemson FB will see better QB play in 2024 than during most games of the 2021, 2022, and 2023 season.

Agree about Helms. Looked good against GT a couple seasons ago when he got a good bit of PT. Also thought Pearman looked capable in the spring game.

Who was the better player? CV? Klubnick was the number 2 rated QB and the 13th overall player in the whole country. On paper, CK2 was the better player.

Would remind you that Cade beat the #1 QB 3 times....and #1 could not start at OSU so portalled back to UT where he looked OK...he was no all american...looked lost at time vs. Washington who didn't have a great D...liked Ewers but never thought he had Cades potential...I think Cade needs 15 to 20 lbs with more speed...Ds slap him down like a gnat...need a little extra muscle on our gnat!
