At first I thought Shipley was mad about being pulled from the game, and having his helmet taken from him. But on replay it's clear he signaled to come out and he only got mad when he saw the replay for targeting that was not called. After that he went through the steps need to get checked out and back in the game.

Yeah, he really seemed to go off.

That hit was pretty nasty. I'm glad he was ok. It's wild that helmet-to-helmet on him was missed both times. I get why he was so upset about it.

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

Re: DJU...I'm not sorry. DJU couldn't manage to throw a screen pass without one-hopping it to the receiver. He knows he's going to pass, he knows it's going to be quick out of his hands, well before any really pressure can mount. There should be no defenders likely to intercept it. ALl he's got to do is get it there. Set, hike, into the dirt...

DJU could not make RPO reads, either. Klubnik hasn't done that well either, so it's possible DJU could do a lot better in an offense that does not depend on RPO all the time, much like Klubnik is faring better now.

Whatever happened to D.Pennington?

It’s an over used old adage, but here goes …

Some players simply don’t practice well, but happen to play well in games.

Remember in the 2021 season, when Hunter Rayburn couldn’t get a sniff of PT during first half of the year?

After the abject failures of Matt Bockhorst (very good at G but really bad at C) and Mason Trotter (too small & easily whooped by DT’s) finally led our staff to give (the not especially quick) Hunter Rayburn a shot. Rayburn played quite well; his play easily eclipsed that of the other two guys who apparently looked better in practice.

Our coaching staff should consider, in the absence of his setting bad examples or being engaged in counter productive behavior, Dietrich Pennington for play at one of the Guard spots.
