This is why Mickey is still on 105.5 The Roar for the past 20 years and he has not moved to a more prominent national show. He has a hard time talking facts and separating being a fan and a sports show host.

then you know why Mickey is not a national talk show host, he's not in the running for such a job, and he never will. He's clearly very happy with where he is now, being a media mouthpiece for Clemson. I think most big college sports radio networks have at least one guy like that, and that's probably a good thing. Mickey is an athletic department insider who has access to the coaches whenever he wants or needs it as long as he toes the company line. Clearly Dabo is longtime friends with Streeter, and even though he finally had to fire Streeter he doesn't want Clemson media denigrating him.
The reality of the years, especially the last two seasons, tell a different story about Streeter's abilities as a QBs teacher. He clearly had nothing to add to the skills of the two talented QBs we had, DW4 and TW 16. Those guys knew more about the finer points of QB play than Streeter did the minute they stepped on campus. That's why they were both Round 1 draft picks for the league... not because of any skills imparted to them by Streeter. That said, he is a Tiger and I think he did his best - he was just out of his league here as a coach. He played hard during his time at Clemson and I honor that. Best wishes to him for the future.

Mickey did leave WCCP to go to a Greenville AM ESPN affiliated station with the hopes of trying to get a National radio show through ESPN. He only remained at that station for about a year before coming back to WCCP when he realized he would never get a national job through ESPN. So, at one point he wanted to be in the running for a national job, but it did not work out. So, yes, I have been listening to him for 20 years.

Cole Stoudt ready to destroy Oklahoma. Did he help Watson? His picks got worse. Did he help KB? Maybe. We did get to playoff. Did he help Trevor? Big NO in my opinion. Did he help big cinco? He got better but did not get better at Clemson. So I would have to call a big BS on Streeter developing talent. My opinion only, of course!

I think El Stinko got worse despite all of the coaches praising him. He was a recruiting bust.
