Dont get me wrong, there were some terrible missed calls both ways. It's always going to be this way with crappy acc refs.
The main difference between this game and the duke game, is that all the crappy calls didn't go one way. They were not one sided whatsoever.
Bravo refs. You didnt completely suck this game.

Agreed. There were two calls late that caused me to remark to my nephew, “Here we go again.”
One was the foul against Chase (I think) where the ref right in front of him said he lost the ball OB. The other was when the UNC player knocked the ball OB but was called off us. Not reviewed but replays showed it was clearly off the UNC player. After one of those, UNC hit a 3 to tie the game at 70. I’ve seen that kind of cooking on Tobacco Road for decades.
But then the refs got it together and called it pretty fairly from there. Great win!

Obvious foul on Chase as ball was knocked out of bounds and given to Heels. Then the Heels knocking the ball out of bounds, those almost cost us the game. The refs could have at least replayed them as they were so obvious.

I thought it suspicious that they didn't replay either of those, but they later replayed the OOB call that went to us.

Chase was definitely hacked on the arm right in front of the ref and Brad. It was an unbelievable no call.

Just read your other post. I think you have it just right. We usually get the shaft against UNC and Duke, especially on the road. We overcame the attempt last night.

I haven’t seen your other post year, but the officiating, especially late in the game, was horrible. No one call hurt us as bad as the one at the end of the game at Duke, but it was still very badly one-sided. Funny how some only see it when we lose.
We overcame the bad calls and some poor free throw shooting at the end of the game last night. That was my point after the Duke game. Against Duke, we didn’t do enough to overcome the poor officiating and our own mistakes, but we did last night. So it can be done.

They tried their best to keep UNC in the game. There were bad calls both ways but it wasn't close to 50/50. The main difference was JGIII was knocking down his shots and PJ and Shef dominated inside.
Baycot had to commit felonies to get a foul called on him and still nearly fouled out.

I’ll bet that’s never happened to UNC in their entire basketball existence.
Outside of a final minute type scenario of course.

I believe the head guy of the refs quietly told the assigned refs to call the game as you see it, not how you want it because he has watched our game with Duke.

slap on the butt after one foul was called on Bacot. That same ref made a couple of those terrible calls, including the foul on Girard on what should have been a jump ball....

There were 3 very ticky tack calls they called on unc in the second half. They were all in the span of like 9 seconds. There was a foul on a 3 point shooter that they missed. There were also a couple non calls where we hacked bacot toward the end of the game. Definitely way more contact than the fouls they called on us at the beginning of the game.
The non call on the chase "turnover" was awful as was the incorrect out of bounds ruling.

Those 3 quick, ticky-tac fouls on NC were with 5:10 to go in the first half (funny, I had remembered them being in the second half too, but just looked it up to confirm and it was in the first half). When they started, we had 7 team fouls and NC had 4. These calls evened the number of fouls called and put us in the bonus. Seemed to me when it happened it felt like it was an effort to make it appear even. Still think that is a possibility because NC wasn’t called for any more fouls in the first half after those 3.

BUT HAD THOSE 2 HORRENDOUS CALLS AT THE END OF THE GAME COST US WE WOULD ALL BE HERE B!TCHING AGAIN. AND RIGHTFULLY SO. EXCEPT FOR VIZCOOT AND NCCOOT. THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN ECSTATIC HAD THEY COST US THE GAME.

but better than we typically get against UNC and Duke.
At least they called UNC for a few fouls in the last five minutes. They were the correct call, but thankfully they called them.

To me acc officials are inconsistent and suck every single game. I didnt think this game was blatantly one sided which is what i expected.

Yea was really surprised. I do not honestly ever remember feeling that way about officiating at Duke or UNC.
