Still pisssed & disappointed JOE21 didn't make it to 100th BD..

Nov 3, 2022, 12:04 PM

since I'd been invited to his huge party planned at Clemson's beautiful Madren Center by the famous PAW shaped golf course green next to Lake Hartwell.

Hundreds of Friends & Family from the States and several countries were about ready to get together and give JOE an Orange birthday bash unlike any other in Clemson history.

Can you imagine it..with people partying, Tiger Rag blaring, maybe even Dabo & some players attending or at least giving him a custom white football with signatures..and JOE being seated high so we could see him opening his many gifts.

Now that I think about it, I hadn't thought about what my gift should be.

Maybe a Tiger PAW item for "THE TIGER PAW MAN"! LOL~

Yep, JOE, his friends & family missed a fabulous 100th Birthday Party on earth that he well deserved & earned and would have enjoyed 110%.

Go TiGER(s)!

I hated that for both he and his family. I know they had big plans for that celebration. Like you, I hated it for all the TigerNetters who kept up with Joe and read all of his exploits in such a long life.
But from what I hear, most people (like Joe) don't ever get a chance to celebrate #100. My parents are both 93, but their health is beginning to decline quickly. Reaching 100 years is very rare indeed.
Maybe we will be a couple of exceptions...

Called my 94 year old mother yesterday and she answered her phone from her backyard where she was hoeing weeds from around a rose bush. ( I have weeds around my shrubbery that I consider family members they have been around so long).

know a bit how you feel.my dear aunt, genevieve, passed away about a year ago,a few weeks before her 99th birthday.she had been so good for so long that we all expected her to make 100.she was still working, albeit lightly, and driving well into her 90's.

My Dad (class of 46) will be 98 in a few weeks. He's pretty near housebound now, but his mind is good, and we're very thankful that he's still with us.

Me too Bill. I was at my grandmother's 97th birthday this weekend and thought about him. Here's hoping that shot of whiskey she took with the family keeps her around well past 100!

Just to make sure, did you leave her the bottle?

I come from a large, thirsty family Clover, it was empty in less than 5 minutes?
BTW it was Sweetens Cove whiskey, good stuff. Named after the logging camp area my grandfather was born.

Was afraid that was the case

you could have sprung for a second bottle for her birthday stash.

Considering that was probably the third or forth time in my lifetime that I've ever seen her drink it likely would have sat collecting dust, but you never know ?
