Years ago, I was on a work trip staying at some moderately priced hotel, watching random cable television offerings. This particular show was on the hunt for giant anaconda, and it featured a researcher---Jesus Rivas---wading in knee deep water, poking around with a stick, trying to find 20-25 foot long snakes. That was his method. Farking nuts.
Later, I called my wife and told her about this lunatic. No joke, before I said his name, she said "was it Jesus Rivas?" I said yeah... and she said, "Oh, I used to date that guy at UT."

I feel like this is one of those things that will just stay under the surface for a good while, and probably pop up the next time I spend a drunken night out at the Clermont Lounge. That's probably the best time for us to work through it.
