So about our "much improved defense"

Dec 1, 2013, 11:20 AM

Let's break this down.
1. We finished with the exact same record with losses to the exact same teams as last year
2. We allowed more points to be scored by FSU and SC this year than we allowed last year
3. We lost by larger margins of victory to FSU and SC this year than we did last year.

Remind me how exactly we are so much better on D?

Defense was put in a hole against FSU and USC due to turnovers.... can't turn the ball over 6 times including 4 of their side of the 50 and shut teams down

We held seven teams we played to 14 points or less.

Last year we held THREE teams to 14 points or less.

2012 we allowed 323 points, which included the bowl. That's an average of 24.8 points per game.

2013 (without a bowl) we have allowed 222 points, or an average of 20.2 points per game. I don't see us allowing 101 points in the bowl game. We are an improved defense.
