I know the consensus has been A+M with Fisher and Petrino, but with them gone, I'd like to nominate Auburn for the sleeziest athletic dept. Hugh "that's the wrong cell phone" Freeze and Bruce "NCAA probation pending" Pearl. Maybe there is a worse group of leaders of young men, but I can't think of one. oops. UM with Jim Harbaugh and Juwan Howard. Others?

Dave Doeren alone gives NC State a dishonorable mention in this category.
Maybe he’s more dooshy than sleazy?

What makes this so bad at Penn State is The HC and othe staff knew about it or had suspicions of what was going on. Winning and recruiting took priority. Which is really sad.

This is kind of like driving through a homeless encampment in LA

…and asking who has the worst accommodations.
Seriously, who stands out in this “race to the bottom” crowd of college athletic departments?
Come on! While we all know this distinction would be coveted by at least 30 colleges, it is just too competitive here to award a winner.

I am willing to give Hugh Freeze another chance because he stated coaching at Liberty changed his life. I was disappointed to see Willy Korn go to Florida. Not because of Billy Napier. Florida’s program has be toxic for several years. We give a lot credit for that to Urban Meyer and some of his staff.
This is why I am glad we run a pretty clean program under Dabo and Co. And I am willing to give him plenty of time to rebuild. TL, ETN, Mike Williams, Tee Higgins, DE and numerous great defensive players who are and were “ All In “ on and off the field do not come along every day.
In today’s climate and chaos it’s difficult to know what you have from year to year.
Thank Dabo from many fans.

That's pretty convenient for Freeze. Apologize and get another chance to lead young men and make millions of dollars. He is a brilliant coach but as a reminder: https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/ole-miss-coach-hugh-freeze-resigns-amid-explosive-new-information/ He looked his AD in the eye and said the escort service call was a "mis-dial". Not to mention the rempant NCAA violations, back when those things kind of mattered. He can be forgiven of these things but there should still be consequences for his despicable actions

This dude right here. Based on Liberty's history, that's not exactly a place to go for moral reform. Anybody remember the Falwell's?
Also, he looks like Peter Pettigrew.

Yea let’s take the Falwell’s and judge the university as a whole. One of the biggest in the nation, and would say people will screw up no doubt but not going to say that the university is no place for moral reform as a whole. They are not even there anymore.

From things I have read on Hugh I’m not sure him or Kiffin are the same kind of people they were 5-10 years ago. Kiffin seems to be light years ahead of what I once thought about him. With Hugh time will tell. People change and maybe he figured if he was going to remain in this profession he better start surrounding himself with better people.
I like to think I’m a better version of myself since 5-10 years ago.
Pearl I have honestly never read up on much of anything with him, but hopefully he is turning the corner as well. Time will tell.

That one should definitely be on the list given it led to a fatality. And was unbelievably followed by other driving violations

Auburn has never been much on the integrity and academic side. Freeze has found him a good home.

It was Rick Pitino, the basketball coach, and he said he never new about that. It was a graduate assistant paying the 25k/weekend. Right? Bobby Petrino was there also. So Louisville would have to be pretty high on the list. But I was asking about what current athletic dept is the sleeziest. Auburn still in the lead.
