Report: Michigan sign-stealing operation extended to Clemson game

1

Oct 24, 2023, 6:37 PM

Buckeye Huddle reports that Michigan's alleged sign-stealing operation that featured Michigan staffer Connor Stallions buying tickets to multiple opponents' games, also included Clemson. In-person scouting is illegal per NCAA rules:

At least one program that was considered a potential post-season opponent has been found to be impacted as multiple sources have confirmed to BuckeyeHuddle.com that Connor Stalions, the Michigan support staffer who allegedly spearheaded the operation, purchased a ticket to a Clemson home football game during the 2022 regular season. This new information was confirmed to Buckeye Huddle through sources close to the Clemson program on the ground in South Carolina.

Clemson started the 2022 season 8-0 and looked primed for a spot in the College Football Playoff before stumbling on November 5th at Notre Dame and then finishing the regular season with a one-point loss to rival South Carolina.

So far, Clemson is the first non-Big Ten school that sources have confirmed to be impacted, but it’s worth wondering just how wide of a net was cast last season as Michigan rolled to an undefeated regular season and ultimately a conference championship win and College Football Playoff appearance.

Next step, if Michigan picked our signs, did they sell that information to

Oct 24, 2023, 6:40 PM

the Domers? Not likely through any traceable channels, but hey, you wouldn't have thought they would be obvious enough to have staffers buying tickets under their own names, either. More to come?

No. We just got our assets kicked by a more physical team

Oct 25, 2023, 6:05 AM

Also, not too hard to figure out our offensive tendencies at the time. If ND did know signs it was probably due to having a team working on sign stealing like we used to be publicized for doing.

Clemson was involved or guilty by association.

Not to be redundant, but this article headline sucks bigguns.

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

That's what I thought as well. :(

If you read the ESPN article today about the whole situation

Oct 24, 2023, 7:17 PM [ in reply to This headline sucks out loud because it implies ]

It brings up our game against LSU and claims they think we sent people to the SEC championship game to scout signs.

It sounds like we did***

This explains everything, Dabo is purposefully tanking the offense because he knows the spies are amongst us. He doesn’t want to give anything away so he’s purposefully showing the most vanilla bland calls.

Also one step ahead coach.

Wonder when we find out, like Wakey-leaks, that this guy was shopping his info around. Not just reporting home to Harbaugh. Helping a lesser team knock Clemson off would play to their advantage anyway.

You don’t exactly need a tinfoil hat for this one. Dude at Wake was not being subtle about it and only got caught because Louisville left the book they bought lying around. There is obviously no honor among thieves in college football. By reports, it was shopped to virtually all ACC schools and no one ratted on him. That would also suggest such stuff goes on a lot more than acknowledged or he would never have been so brazen about it. Which then might suggest that our young staff isn’t hampered by their actual coaching and play calling abilities but rather their low standing in the hierarchy of assistants and access to or protection from such schemes. But that’s slightly more tinfoil worthy.

Seriously? This is what the NCAA finds to occupy it’s time.

Sign stealing of the kind being accused here is not that far removed from game fixing. This is the second major incident to be exposed in less than 10 years. What percent have they actually uncovered? That college football could be outright rigged is far more dangerous to the future of the sport than NIL or the portal. And probably far harder to police. How long before cell phone footage of the sideline synced to ingame footage fed to AI delivers a full playbook almost instantly.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

With the TALENT INEQUITY concentrated to a few teams like Michigan

1

Oct 26, 2023, 3:35 PM

…driven by the PORT-NIL, I’d say that there would be NO CHANGE IN OUTCOMES for these LOADED TEAMS, even if they HANDED OVER BOTH the OFFENSIVE and DEFENSIVE playbooks to their opponents.

So if I went to watch a football game in person, I could be accused of stealing some team's signs? Why don't they just accuse me of witchery and burn me at the stake? Pretty thin 'evidence'.

NCAA could enact a punishment by pulling single hairs from

1

Oct 25, 2023, 7:07 AM

perpetrators heads every 15 seconds over an extended period not to exceed 30 days.

That should be enough to deter future violations of this egregious act of terror.

Now, back to watching NIL contracts getting Transfer Portal entry/exit incentives…NICE!!

Ok. CFB makes plenty of money to put this to bed and go with the NFL communication system. My god just put it to bed and be done.

If you don’t think everyone was doing it, I got something I would like to sell you.
