4 because it is the most unexplainable situation i can remember in Dabo’s tenure. Until they give some explanation of why they kept Cade out vs SC there will always be suspicion. He does not go from bench warmer to star mvp in one week of practice. Makes no sense whatsoever.

The contrarians run out of steam...

they always do. They'll move on to the next target. Streeter's play calling shut them up Saturday, Spiller is now in the crosshairs. Rest easy CJ, this too shall pass.

Welp, now that Brandon is talking up. Cade, my work is done. So, yes, I’ll be moving on.
So, what’s this about CJ? Did I miss something?! Looks like I need to rewatch the coot game and figure out what he screwed up. My attention is needed, evidently….

on the 121st ranked pass defense, 83rd scoring defense, & 115th total defense.
He should've never been hired/promoted to OC at Clemson, but things will quiet b/c Dabo won't can his buddy.

at least those that are old enough to remember.
Losing to the coots, and our home streak, and a shot at the playoffs is just as big.
So to answer your question. 30 years or longer.

This is immediately what I thought of. Puntiooski. Some plays and games just go down in Clemson lore. Because of who we lost to, that game feels like one of them. Clemson fans will talk about this for years.
And the better Cade turns out to be, the more it will come up by casual fans.
“Yeah, I remember, and we had THAT guy on the bench.”

Kind of like the head scratching decision to pull Merriweather, never. Even Carolina fans are laughing at both of those idiotic moves. People from both sides will be talking about it for years to come.

I do still have the Merriweather situation brought up on occasion. Matter of fact it was brought up a few times just last week.

Some people just feel better about themselves when they complain about the team/staff. That is why they post as it makes them feel better about themselves. I am certainly tired of the complaining, and if they can't be positive... I just move on (after providing a TD), can't get on that bandwagon with them. I remember when GT was a threat, and we were lucky to make it to a bowl game. 10+ wins every season has really spoiled some fans.

Merriweather vs USC in 2006. He was killing the chickens and 80k+ were chanting "Reggie...Reggie".
They couldn't stop Reggie....but Tommy stopped him.

I'm still not past the 1975 Coot game yet. After being at Clemson 20 years, Dabo should know.

They'll drop way off after the start of next year.
But they likely won't go completely away until after Cade leaves, at least not completely. Imagine he starts next year and makes it to the playoffs... 'Well we should have made it last year...' is something I can imagine coming up.

Our excellent performance in the Orange Bowl will stir up the questions again - and not just on T-net, but all across sports media. By spring practice, we will become focused on our two 5-star QBs and the coming season.
Perhaps some of y'all don't get how big a deal this is (or maybe you do and that's why you want it to go away). Dabo Swinney cost his team a spot in the CFP, the longest active home winning streak, and the state championship to our hated rivals.
Until I get some kind of explanation as to how and why, that is going to be one of the first things that comes to my mind when I think about Clemson Football. I don't think that is unreasonable and I think many people are of the same mind on it.
