Interesting...have they said they'll also remove UNC & NC State from the NCAA if they boycott North Carolina? What about the Bobcats from the NBA, Panthers from the NFL or Hurricanes from the NHL?
What a bunch of clowns.

Even if you want to limit it to state funded schools, wasn't the NCAA making the same threats as the ACC? Why wouldn't they just threaten to remove North Carolina and NC State from sports if threatened?

The ACC, NCAA and every other college or pro team for that matter need to stay out of politics and politics themselves need to stay out of sports. Each need to run their business and stay out of the other.

What happened to the free market? The ACC/NCAA being able to relocate games/their business out of NC is exactly the sort of free market principle that I hear people supporting the "stay out of politics" hot take supporting. Well? So what of the free market?

...just like it's a joke for legislature jumping into NC sports. The legislature should spend more time working on the lack of institutional control at UNCheat. ACC and NCAA should focus less on bathroom equality.

equality. They tried to create fear for political reasons and passed the moronic law to begin with. Like there was a real issue with what bathroom people used.
They created fear of men coming into ladies restrooms, like there weren't already female molesters of young girls and male molesters of young boys already in the next stall.

So these "Liberals" are trying to "force their beliefs on people" by fighting a NC Bill that would deny citizens of the United States equal protection under the law, equal protection as defined by the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution and upheld by the Supreme Court? You're saying not being allowed to discriminate is violating your rights? And that North Carolina should be able to make laws that violate the United States Constitution and Supreme Court rulings?
Just curious....

If you read my response you would have found that I never mentioned a thing about the NC Bill. Nope I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy of RockSolid's statement that Christians are obsessed with genitalia and try to force their moral code on everyone. But since you went there - this whole HB2 debacle wasn't started by Christians obsessed with genitalia. Quite the opposite - it all started when the liberal mayor and city council in Charlotte became obsessed with genitalia confusion and passed a city ordinance forcing their transgender morality upon everyone who used a public bathroom or shower facility. HB2 was the State legislatures response to that city ordinance. So once again - it works both ways.
I'm a Christian and I really don't care what hole you put your genitalia in so long as it is with another consenting adult and in a private setting. However, many liberals feel the need to shove their views of sexuality in my face and demand that I go beyond tolerating a certain lifestyle to one of outright acceptance. As a Christian, I can tolerate homosexuality in our society just as I can tolerate other legal behaviors that are not aligned with my Christian values. Just because I am tolerant of a legal behavior does not mean I have to accept that behavior within my personal moral code - nor should I.
But alas, a lot of liberals find that simply tolerating their views is not enough. Nope, everyone must accept their liberal morality for if we don't the left will label us with all kinds of nasty names (narrow minded, bigot, homophobe, racist, sexist, etc...). In fact I bet you and RockSolid are chomping at the bit to call me one of those names right now...

I am from North Carolina, and can call, this what it is, a really stupid bill that was written and passed in less than 24 hours. Not only did it attack a problem that did not exist, it also allowed discrimination against more than just transgenders. Please read the bill.
It was so backward as to be truly a disgrace.
Top that bill off with this new one about pulling the schools out of the ACC, and another just introduced making same sex marriages illegal. Saying that the Supreme Court over reached. The NC legislature is a joke. They are dragging the State down.

Actually, Tabby, I was in no way referring to HB2, but to the new bill proposed in NC that was specifically mentioned in the OP. This new bill has nothing to do with the "bathroom bill," but is instead new legislation aimed at making same sex marriage illegal and nullifying all existing legal marriages, in violation of SCOTUS ruling.
And NC HB2 was about WAY more than the bathroom issue. It specifically allowed for workplace discrimination and removed legal protections and means for legal recourse for victims of discrimination. The bathroom issue was just one part of many issues with the bill.
No one wants or is trying to force you to "love" any lifestyle you do not choose. I have no reason to call you any names, as long as you're not one of the ones who are actively trying to create laws that disallow legal protections to one group that are enjoyed by all others. Our Constitution and its legal protections apply to all Americans, not just straight white Christian conservatives as a lot of people in North Carolina (and the rest of America) think.
Things to live by: 1)Folks need to keep their religion 100% OUT of politics. The Establishment Clause was put there by the Founding Fathers for a reason. 2) Live and let live, and "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." If a lot of people on the radical Right would follow these rules and leave others the #&@% alone, this place would be a lot better place to live for everybody.

Please stop with the religious moral code. Until Christians start demanding the church clean up their act concerning.... sexual predators in the pulpit, child molestation, adultery, divorce etc.. etc.. They have no grounds to stand on when it comes to morals! I am sick and tied of looking at the news daily and seeing men of the cloth being charged for sexual offenses!
Right Wing Christians need to clean up their own backyards before condemning others!

I'm fed up with the hypocrisy from the ego-tripping, holier than thou conservative Christians. So called Christians need to pull out a mirror and look at themselves. Are your actions pleasing to the Lord? Are you accepting others as God accepted you?
If the Lord came back to earth today, he would be deported from America because he is not a "white" man! I'm sorry but that ##### grabbing lunatic you elected as POTUS is NOT the Mesia! He is not going to lead you to the promise land, golf course maybe.
Life and let live, let God sort it out on judgement day on who was right and who was wrong!
