Amazing how open SCar commitments have been about other schools recently. Seems as if there is no requirement to commit to them.
South Carolina: "We will hold your spot until a better offer comes a long."

In the, not too distant past, they have withdrawn their offers at the last minute, too. I'm glad it seems to be biting them on their feathered arses now.

It's just a testament to USCjr and how they recruit. They have no selling point other than...our roster is trash and you will play early. Clemson, on the other hand goes after high character recruits who are for the most part trustworthy. Our Clemson brand sells itself, and when you commit, you know Clemson is the only place you want to spend your college years at.

" As of right now I'm committed " and " i just loved the visit " and I could play earlier at Georgia .." and " I couldn't give a percentage , but I'm committed " . This kid has already left the Coots ...he just can't break down and say it .
The problem is real . DeCootment is a virulent scurge ....to the USCjr crowd . LOLATDC

They do have a lot of receivers. None that this kid couldn't play ahead of. But they do have a lot of receivers.

That doesn't even make sense, "I'm committed for right now." I think somebody needs to help him understand what the word committed means. When your committed to something it's 100%, period. He needs to rephrase that and say, "As of right now it's where I'm gonna play football, but I may go somewhere else."

Poor Cootlumbia... Edwards is a good kid and a special talent. Not many years ago we'd''ve been working hard to get him (lifetime Clemson Tiger fan)
Just goes to show how incredibly good our receiving corps is nowadays

Removing my passionate hatred for all things USuC, this

isn't a problem specific to USuC(though I do enjoy it when it happens there), it is a societal problem. The breakdown of the family, faith and tradition has led to loss of the meaning of commitment. There is no "percentage" of commitment to a yes/no question. Once "maybe" enters into discussion, the commitment no longer exists! Speaking in generalities,I do believe that kids look at commitments as place-holders rather than any kind of absolute. Coaches aren't much better; you tell a kid that you plan on being around for them, then bolt for another job and try to get them to flip. That's wrong. Would an early signing period help? Maybe. But then a kid could be left committed to a school that has gone through major changes which he didn't sign up for.

most kids, most, stay with their commitments. these are young kids that are easily influenced by very good used car salesman when it comes right down to it. i cant hold it against most kids that waffle a little bit.

The "coot brand" has definitely cooled off. They have lost their "edge" and they can put the blame squarely on spurlid's shoulders. The bagman left and went to Auburn, thusly, with darth visor's stupid #### comment and his inability to bring in quality coaches, the quagmire exists today. Love it.

Not only your point, but at usuc, his "offer and commitment" from them could be withdrawn at the last minute, too, without a hint of warning.

There no societal breakdown at work here, good lord. This is college football, not marriage and we are talking about teenagers here.
Maybe they should use another word for recruiting because there are no early signing periods so it's impossible to sign on the dotted line so to speak. These are basically kids jockeying for the best job, much like everyone else does in the real world. If you interviewed and were offered a position at Company A and then Company B swooped in after and offered you a better deal, would taking offer B be because of a breakdown in society? I don't think so.
These commitments go both ways and schools can (and have) gone back on their "commitments" before signing day. If there is no early signing period, then this commitment wavering will continue to be a problem. Until that happens, this is a part of football that happens to everyone.

He sounds about as committed to the coots future as slurrier. Who could blame him on second guessing himself? The only issue is that ugay will stretch things a bit, too. It's not like they have a plethora of opportunities open for him to waltz in and take either. Neither of his options at those 2 "prestigious universities" will ease the sting in his life of not having a Clemson experience.

South Carolina fans must be asking, "how do we recruit?"
I want to change my prediction....If Spurrier loses this recruit, he is going to retire before the season.....

Rat tail with a chicken tattooed below it. Here's his name and comment....lol
AzzKiknChikn 1 day ago Not worried about Edwards. He isn't going anywhere.
Lol, I don't think I've ever seen a chicken and thought that, now that's hilarious!
You know he's going to be a dawg. He sees the writing on the wall. He can play and win at Ga.
Back to 2 & 3 stars. It's like that game in late November opened the eyes of a lot of recruits. This roller coaster never goes back up
It's going to be bad when the 3 stars start jumping ship for Georgia Southern or Wofford.
Go Tigers and try not to enjoy the show as the chickens start choking and drown! Lol

"I have to sit down and think about that. I haven’t taken the time to think about flipping"
Translation: I haven't figured out how to tell the coaches I'm flipping. I can't blame them for shopping around but I feel like once you "commit" it's over. But hey maybe he passed over UGA and now likes them. Either way it's funny to watch the chickens crash back down lol

I also think that Scars recruiting mindset has finally bitten them in the butt. Spurrier doesn't seem committed to the kids and the whole program has a lackadaisical attitude. When they were winning, that was ok. But they tried to ride that wave and couldn't sustain it.

That's a shame....
Plus, I'd look for McIlwain to decommit at some point in time.
