ESPN just posted their top-10 running backs and Mafah didn’t even receive a vote to be on there. People are severely underestimating him after how he played in the final five games

Preseason lists are fodder for talking heads. He was our secondary back to Shipley. He'll be the feature back this year. Let's see what the top 10 RB's are after the season.

the system that we run, he is still going to be splitting time with SOMEBODY, just to keep him fresh for the 4th quarter of games. If he shows out as we expect he will, these preseason rankings will mean nothing, which in reality, they mean nothing either way.

He's proven he can be RB #1. Look how he performed when Ship was out with injury. He got stronger as the game went on. He carried the load for the team especially with not a great offensive line.

Folks misunderstood me when I preferred Ship as starter. After the fumbles ended both were 1st class RBs.

I preferred Ship because when all things were equal the backup got more yardage yet Ship, in either role, fumbled less/carry.

That in no way persuaded me to disrespect Phil. Stats have no emotion and disrespect no one.

I expect Phil to claim the outright title to best on our team this season coming. He is a monster, fast enough to torture LB's and linemen and hits hard enough to cripple corners and safeties.

He won't be underrated after this season...he will make everyone sit up and take notice...did we also mention that he can pass...left handed!

Definitely. If he stays healthy I believe he will be a top 10 by season's end.
