Over/Under 13.5 sacks for Lawson?

He's at 7.5, half a sack shy of where Beasley was at this point. Beasley had 13 his junior year. Does Shaq get 13.5 and even the pace? More? Less?

That's a good question. I fully expect Lawson to have a breakout year for us, so it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility. Our secondary should be very good this year, which may force QBs to hold onto the ball for longer than usual, creating more sack opportunities.

josh, reader, watkins pushing the pocket back. qbs were not often allowed to step up to avoid outside pressure.
also, vic's first step sacks were nasty. if lawson can dominate the edge in similar fashion, 13.5 is a good number.

9.5 but just as much/ more dominant in the backfield on running downs.

Over.....
With all the sacks Beasley had, he wasn't built to be a sack machine. Which is what made his production so amazing at D-end. Shaq is the prototype. His size alone makes him more of a problem for left tackles. His speed makes him a match up nightmare for LT.

Not at defensive end....He was much too small. He has a first step and burst that made it hard for Left tackles to defend it. And Beasley was a third and long pass rusher up until last year.
Shaq will be on the field for more snaps because he is built for it. He has the same first step and burst.

Some people just like to overthink some things. Just because Lawson is a more prototypical DE doesn't mean he will get more sacks

Not true. Beasley was only a situational pass rusher in 2012(His first year playing the position) when Goodman was still here. He was the starting WDE in 2013-2014.
Also the main reason Lawson will probably play more snaps is because we don't have the luxury of quality experienced depth at DE that we had in 2013 and 2014.

I think he gets less . Here is a guy that willbe focused on as there are no other pro en pass rushers in our DL corps , but that should change and I believe it will . I think 10 sacks this year for Shaq Lawson would be very good .

Depends on what Dodd and the middle guys do. If they can double Shaq, all bets are off.

That would be a great line if I had a little more confidence in Dodd as a dominant player on the other side of the line. I'd take the under as it sits. Thinking the 10-12 range sounds about right.
