One thing the Basketball team needs

I believe this is a very good team. PJ is up there with Brad’s best players overall, if not the best. We have good shooters, good rebounders, etc.
But we don’t have an Elijah Thomas. We don’t have a big physical center who can score 20+ points as well as get multiple blocks/rebounds.
I think Thomas was a huge reason why the 2016 team got to the Sweet 16. Devoe, Reed, and Mitchell were great scoring guards, better than what we have now. But our guards are good enough this year.
Brad actually has a good class for ‘24 class. Three top-200 overall players.
I think Dallas Thomas will be Brad’s best player that he’s ever had. His physical build is one that NBA scouts mainly look for.
But Brad didn’t get one center in the ‘23 class. Including the portal. Which is where Elijah Thomas came from.
Lot of you forget about Elijah, but that presence down low made a difference.
And no, Ian Scheffelin isn’t quite at the same level as Thomas. I love Ian, and he’s a great one in my opinion, but the overwhelming height isn’t there with any of our big men.

Biggest thing is 3 point shooting. The only person that has been consistent is girard. We need chase hunter and hall to pick it up. We need pj shooting in the upper 30's and chase in the low to mid 30's

You could say that about every team in the acc then. The team that shoots the least amount of 3's in the ACC is louisville at 18 per game.
If you dont hit a decent percentage of your 3's then you are going to have a tough time winning. That is a fact.

I would have to agree with this not much if a difference in play from our big men.
We definitely are missing a player like donnal who could spell thomas and was a strong rebounder and could hit the 3.

If you want to pull stats
Thomas is one of just nine players in Clemson history to amass at least 700 points, 450 rebounds and 125 blocks in a Tiger uniform and one of just seven to accumulate 900 points, 600 rebounds and 150 blocks … cracked the top ten list in Clemson history for blocks in a career … sits at No. 10 with 176 blocks in his career … his 1.93 blocks per game are fourth all-time in Clemson history
I really do think PJ is a better natural scorer and shooter, but if we’re talking a pure center at the college level, Thomas did more of the dirty work and the stats above represent that

By the way, PJ Hall has 1400+ points, 545 rebounds, and 118 blocks...and he has at least 13 more games to play.

I guess PJ Hall scoring 20 a night at center doesn’t count and his blocks don’t count at center?! PJ is much better

Dallas Thomas is 6-8 & 170lbs.
Built like smaller version of Manute Bol.
As of now, I honestly don't see him getting much playing time next year.
I'm high on Del Jones. I'm really curious as to how we landed this guy. He's far from the typical Brownell recruit.

A head coach that could lead a team out of a wet paper bag.
Those are weaknesses of the team.

It would help if Hunter was a better 3pt shooter. We only have one good option who shoots 3 well. We could have used a 2nd option. Wiggins has some potential, but obviously not quite there.

Might be the most reasonable analysis of this years team I’ve read. Elijah Thomas could also get in foul trouble almost before the opening tip.
