At Clemson, our coaches recruit at a very high level, especially during the Dabo era. That is a fact! However, we always have a "young" team most years with mostly Fr, R-FR, So. R-So and Jr. players. The highly recruited and developed players are graduated and gone after 3 years. This is where the addition of a couple of experienced Seniors or Grads at key positions could make a difference. Coach Bryant use to have a saying that you could have all the highly recruited high boys you wanted, just give him a bunch of men who had been shaving for a few years and he would beat you. There is a grain of truth in that.

It is 22-23 year olds vs 18-20. I agree it plays a part. Football is not like any other sport. There is a reason NFL doesn’t take high schoolers or underclassmen. I understand players are coming in bigger and stronger but FSU looked huge and fast.

FSU was able to come into Death Valley......play their "B or C game" and beat our "A game".

I didn't see much difference in teams. We don't turn it over, or make a FG - and we win. We never trailed until overtime.
